Hi everyone,
My parents are planning a trip to the UK and France over the Christmas / New Year period. Something like 19 DEC - 03 JAN. They'll be travelling in Y, but if there's a good deal I might chip in to help bump them up to J. I'm looking to see how my ~270K QFF points might help them too.
I'm assuming there there's not much chance of a good deal at this time of year. QF seems to be about $3000 return to LHR at the moment, which seems a bit expensive. But it would let me put in for a points upgrade. What's the likelihood of that going through (parents are not QFF members at the moment) -- close to nothing? Any chance of a sale bringing the price down any time soon?
I see a CX fare for $2500 and MH for $2600, which is better. What's travelling all the way to LHR in Y like on these compared to QF?
Best J fares I found with a quick search are with QR or CX (both ~$7500). Is that the best I'm likely to find?
Thanks,
Cameron
