I popped into Penfolds Magill cellar door today, well it is only 5 or 10 minutes from home. :p
Somebody has to test run our Nuriootpa experience so I thought I would make the sacrifice. What my poor liver endures for AFF
An interesting conversation whilst I was there, over a drink(s) of course.

Koonunga Hill which is ~ $20 should cellar for 20 years (current vintage 2012). Very surprising for a $20 wine.
Thomas Hyland is made from "left over" grapes very often from premium stock so is usually exceptional value.

You need to come to ADL penegal so I can take you there.

Edit to add I especially enjoyed the 2013 Koonunga Autumn Riesling

Sounds like I'm in for a fun evening with the girls, AFL NOT my scene. ( I'm a rugby tragic)
Mrs GPH may disagree and go to the footy.

I dislike watching AFL on TV - I have to play on the tablet, read or do something or I'm asleep in five minutes. But going to the footy and especially watching Power play (and I'm a crows fan by history) is another thing altogether especially at night. But then, I'm not a rugby fan at all so I get your drift.

I'll be in Santorini when the tickets open up which is a shame as I could have organised some tickets. Maybe if people want to organise a group I could give someone my membership number and see if that works to get you into the western stand (the members stand when it's Cricket). That person would then pay using their credit card. It's just my number they would need. And MrP's. That would give 10 tickets I think.

Isn't this warm weather weird Buzz? Perfect day for a Magill visit.

I will be in ADL for 50 minutes on Monday morning on my way to DRW :p

But yes, I shall try to visit soon :)

Don't forget you can take me Buzzard. If I'm ever in ADL with a car and some free time between appointments, I try and head to Magill to make use of my Cellar Door club membership.

That might make it more challenging - particularly given Ports current standing on the AFL Ladder as I would expect as soon as it opens, the tickets won't last long.

This Saturday night (Power v Hawks) a sell out. Maybe the lads might be spending time with the lassies after all. :p

You might be right. I wouldn't want to rush through dinner and have the ladies have their daggers out as we left the table to go to a sporting event

We ladies carry very sharp daggers but on planes have to rely on sharp elbows. :p. Or failing that, sometimes just a 'look' will convey the appropriate message.

My understanding is that the issue with size of the group is more to do with the tasting rooms, rather than the bus which actually seats 42...

It's all good. Just leave your cash on the table, I will assist the ladies in a marathon champagne tasting session
I'm sure there won't be a problem
