I got mine. Very happy about it. But absolutely honest about current ccs and two I’ve just cancelled, assets, income, expenditure. Was a bit tricky at first when my computer glitched and I pressed the back button - oops- creating two application numbers which is a no-no. But got that sorted with a phone call.
Was rung next morning with a bunch of questions, fill in form next day. All done.
More hoo hah in getting a few grand on this card than our old home loan though. Hate to think the hoops you have to go through theses days, I remember when I didn’t have a brass razoo and I was getting credit cards thrown a me!

Pretty straightforward in the end but just took a long time. Asked for payslips a few days after initial application, then over a week later requested some evidence of other income. Once that supplied, approved same day

Sounds like it, i feel like my chances of being declined for a card (was declined during a recent st george application :() than a home loan is higher.

I was thinking about applying for this one, but after reading the bad experiences of a lot of users on this thread, I think I'd be best served avoiding it... Seems like a really bad process with staff calling up constantly and asking random Q's that I've never heard of being an issue on other C'card apps... Disappointing as the deal is quite good.

Agree to an extent but it did not deter me. Only stuff up for me was a 6 day wait awaiting approval and receiving an email that shouldn’t have been sent to me.

Once approved it was easy to setup the card on the app and use Apple Pay and have all type card details available for online purchases.

I don't know about others, but in all fairness some of the bother was caused by computer glitches, most of the Qs and A's that we were asked were done by very very pleasant people, with fantastic attitude, helpful and positive.
My initial problem (an almost immediate decline after I'd been accepted online) was that my computer glitched right at the cruicial moment. I HAD to begin the application again, creating two. That's frowned upon, and I can assume it's because they have their fair share of people who 'don't like the outcome' and so go back and fudge the figures. That wasn't my case. I simply rang up customer service, explained the situation, and was helped immediately. The lady reactivated my application, and resent it. I just had to wait for the card team to look at it.
That happened the very next day. Was called, and yes...sure.... a bunch of questions.
I'm the 'typist' in our house, so as long as my husband knew what I had answered on the form...all true, and carefully researched (bills, expenditure) and he had his 'verbal' password...then all good. OUr main questions came from the fact that we'd had 2-3 ccs that we'd just cancelled due to lack of use. I think they rightly wanted to know that we actually HAD done it, and we probably would have been better to have done that ages ago, rather than the day before! The usual 'scan and email' the bank statement/income stream thing, was pretty easy and standard. I learned that I shouldn't have put BOTH our expenditures on there if it was just for one person. Lady told husband that 'wife's credit card (in my name only) doesn't need to go on there, nor does her expenditure". That's good, half the bills!
So, while a bit fraught at first with my computer glitches, and declinations, actually a GREAT experience with customer service, ...very quick (24 hours), polite...professional, and was accepted in about a day and a half. Of course I wouldn't be so happy had it been knocked back, ...but all in all, great customer service. Which goes against what some have been saying for a long time.
Just waiting for the actual card now.

My process was pretty smooth. Took a while between conditional approval and approval, I sent the payslips immediately, but I didn't hear from them again until it was approved.

Given they're holding the monthly points for spent/time limit, I'd expect them to sit on the bonus points until the last minute, so I foresee myself holding it for a while.

Second statement received and no bonus points have been allocated to the BW account as yet. All the points from the spend show up awaiting transfer (60 day rule). T&C's say up to 5 months for the bonus points and it might just take that long before allocation to the BW account and then subsequent transfer to my QFF account.

Card arrived today, so not bad for three days from wherever it came from to Geelong.

I had used it before with the Google Pay - if you haven't gotten your customer number to log into online banking or the app (so you can get the card number), give them a call and they can send the number through so you can log in, get the card number and start using the card.

Note you can't set a PIN until the card is activated, so if you use Google Pay or Apple Pay, you'll need to stick to sub-$100 purchases until you have activated the card.

I think you're alright with Apple Pay at least...even after I'd got the physical card, I hadn't activated or set a PIN, and used Apple Pay to make a $300 payment OK. Strangely the EFTPOS terminal just spat out a receipt and asked for a signature, which I've never seen with Apple Pay before.

Interesting, I didn't think it would do that given that usually only a signature is required if it can't authorise online. But it makes sense, really.

I imagine Google Pay would do the same.

What's the minimum income requirement on this card? It's not obvious from the offer page on the BW website.

I lodged an application last week including completing ID checks and payslips.

Called today to follow up as I got an email asking to confirm ID. Was told they have a backlog of about 8 business days and to expect to keep getting the automated emails until someone reviews the application.

Pretty poor.

Yes it is a bit slack. You'd think if there was a massive backlog that 1) they'd know it was going to happen when marketing a 'deal' product 2) they'd prepare extra staff to deal with the extra advertising 3) they'd have 'backup' staff...I know, they have to be trained,...to come into the picture if things start getting a little frenetic, like it did...say ...about 4 weeks ago? 4) they'd tighten up their process a bit, so I didn't keep getting random emails asking for random things, AFTER I've been conditionally approved, and rung up already saying it was approved, and having been expecting the cards for DAYS now, still haven't, and still getting random emails which I reply to, and no one responds. ergh.

There are some of us here who are not popular with Bankwest due to benefiting quite well from another product of theirs. This has meant they’re not keen on giving us the banking product again.... is this carrying over to the credit card as well?

They've confirmed this to at least 2 applicants in this thread from memory. But the answer is yes, it remains noted and they remain unwilling to offer products to those who had their accounts closed in most cases.

That may be the case but there is currently a backlog impacting all applicants.

I tried it with Google Pay, got asked for a PIN number (which I didn't have) so ended up using another card.

Might depend on the EFTPOS machine too.
