The Bankwest Qantas Platinum card (which I have) has had a 50K Qantas points sign-up bonus running for the past 3 years or so. Finally, the World card has an offer too of 100K Qantas points.

This offer requires a bit of commitment though. You would need to spend $35,000 (not a typo!) within the first 5 months to get 80,000 bonus Qantas points. If you keep your card open for 15 months you get another 20,000 points.

Damn, missed this by a week. But tbh 35k isn’t worth diverting to the BW. It’s my overseas use only card

Not often do I read something in a PDS that is a positive clause, but the Bankwest Qantas World has at least one:

Complimentary Overseas Travel Insurance
There is no cost for this cover and no requirement to spend a certain amount on prepaid travel costs by charging those costs to your eligible credit card account.

I guess there must be other cards out there with this positive clause, I just have not seen this before.

Underwritten by CoverMore. Not as fast to respond as ANZ but they paid my claim when I had one a little while ago. Reasonable cover for a free policy.

Has anyone been approved for this recently? Was going to get through a lot of the $35k spend by paying in super through an intermediary. Was wondering whether the process was straightforward?

Applied recently (4 weeks ago) application process easy….. the only thing that surprised me was, it required a person to person phone call to enable Apple Pay. Everything else easy
