These days have no status just Q Club, normally go J, we are departing DPS on JQ in Y for CNS (they have no direct J) looking to buy airline lounge pass ($30), see the Premier Lounge but gee reviews are shockers like this very recent one:

At the Premier lounge today the upholstering of the chairs and couches look stained and torn. The wifi doesn’t workz The food looks very unappetizing and I saw a LOT of roaches running around the food stations. Unbelievable! The only thing worth having is a drink, unless you want food poisoning.. The bathrooms smell foul and the shower is in pretty bad shape. I’m surprised the airlines that use this lounge for their passengers haven’t complained! They must improve their standard, because this is far from “premier”!

So thinking now couple hours in main part of airport with the bogans might be better?.

Some of the comments are hilarious. We were refused entry - seems I bought the J* fare and QP and WP don't count. We ended up downstairs with the great unwashed and it was quite pleasant. There's a nice cafe directly under the lounges and not too busy.

I haven't been in there for six months but the reviews you quoted seem a bit over the top unless it's gone massively downhill. I always found the food edible enough, the drinks are nothing special (mainly canned beer, soft drinks, etc). That said I'm not sure I'd pay to enter, you're probably better off spending your $30 downstairs in one of the cafes or bars.

Just flew out of there this afternoon on ScareAsia (which was actually ok) to Darwin = no lounge access

Last month flew out DPS J on Qatar and have previously been in the other lounge.

I bought a decent coffee (which you can't get in either lounge) and an OK muffin (bigger and a lot nicer than anything in either lounge) and a bottle of water for around $12. I sat in the cafe which was a lot quieter and a lot less packed than the lounge. And the air con was a lot better than upstairs.

So IMHO if I had to pay, I wouldn't bother. The public areas aren't as awful as they were 3 years ago.

The lounges are a waste of time - was quite happy with a couple of beers down on some comfy seats in the new terminal. Far nicer than the crowded lounges.

Agree - there in Dec - didn't access any lounges but you can get a decent enough meal and drink for $20 give or take at one of the lounges downstairs. Only thing that might frustrate you is the open area / cafes are a bit less air conditioned than they could be.

I'm travelling ex. DPS on Friday night.

I have two lounge accesses available on a priority pass. Based onthe comments above I won't burn one here. Especially as I will have the FO & SO with me so I'd be up for an additional USD54.

Thanks team AFF for saving me $80!

I had a lounge pass I didn't even think of burning but luckily so as I mentioned earlier the cafe downstairs was quite nice.

After neither a JQ J ticket (not with a Max bundle) nor QF SG would get me into the Premier Lounge last year, I headed next door and purchased access to the TG lounge. From memory it was around $35 for a single-entry pass. The lounge was actually pretty good with clean showers, wifi, a decent selection of food (including make-your-own noodles) and a complimentary 15-minute massage - although free alcohol was limited to one drink.

Having been to the Garuda and SATS Premier lounge, both are not worth paying for (unless paying less than $10 AUD).

Over decades wife & self were lounge hoppers more so when I was a Plat, HKG our favourite and CX first lounge was excellent, been more times to HK than any other OS port, ex pat friends live there and been going to the huge trade shows every year and used it many times as a jumping off using award points, so using a slack lounge from what I read in DPS, I don't think so, been too spoiled in the past :p.
