I've finally dropped back to QF Silver (sorry PS) after about five years of SG (and one of WP). I just remembered I had QP (paid) membership) before graduating to SG all those years ago. I would have had a few months left of membership then. Is it still valid now or do I have start paying again at once? Have received zero correspondence from QF so far although I only dropped down at the end of last month. I only noticed because I saw I was Silver (lifetime) when I checked my activity on the QFF site.

I just checked the QFF site (has that been revamped recently?) and found I'm listed as "lifetime silver" but I need to earn 250 SCs this year to maintain that. Do they know something I don't?

A few years ago I dropped back after about 10 years of SG or WP and I had still had 4 months of a Qantas Club membership remaining that predated first achieving SG. Incredibly Qantas remembered and I got 4 months of QC membership to accompany my first 4 months of PS.

You are right - website does seem to have been revamped. I think they are picking on you! I am LTS and website says I need nnn status credits to reach gold.

You should still have access to whatever remaining QP membership you have left.

Yes, the QF website has recently been revamped only a few days ago. There are still some bugs and glitches that need to be ironed out and it seems the re-qual requirement that you see is one of them.

It's all recorded and your paid membership months will kick in. Surprisingly it's one thing Q get right.

To the OP, out of interest had you been comped SG last year or did you miss the target for the first time this year and they still dropped you to PS? I am facing demotion from SG at the end of the month unless QF are feeling nice...

I like how it even picks up on your being LTS in the "AFF Verified Airline Status" section. But I hear that doesn't translate to something printed on the boarding pass! :(

That's right - on the boarding pass I am plain old 'FF Silver Ruby' :)

I missed for the first time. I scraped into SG last time with a couple of JASAs but as my SC count was way down thanks to my flying switching mainly to VA they probably didn't think it was worth bothering with me. I'd been comped in the past when I'd been within 50 SCs and had booked travel though.

Don't you also get a free 3 month QP pass when you drop from SG? Or does that only apply to people who did not have paid QP in the bank?

When SWMBO dropped from SG to PS end of October a couple of years ago she received a QP card valid to end of January as well as a PS card - so indeed three months.

Thanks, I was fairly certain I read about it on here.
Did she have any QP membership "on hold" at the time? Was she ever a QP member?
Just trying to work out if there is some kind of algorithm to it.. I know I have ~16 months on hold, so when the time comes it would be interesting to see if I get a bonus 3 months on top of what I already have..

I'm not sure about the 3 month thing. My son went down to silver from gold and received nothing, just a couple of years ago.

And when I went from gold to silver I had a few months of paid for club membership which kicked in. I certain didn't get an extension from a gift.

you get three months! (and a free pass)

but I think it is either a one off, or only applicable if you have been gold for a certain period of time?

On my initial drop from plat->gold-> silver (after 8 years platinum, one gold) I got the three months, plus remaining QF membership... so it worked out to almost an extra year of QF club.

I then somehow requaified for gold but only held that for one year. On dropping back to silver, only the residual QF club was granted - no extra three months.

SWMBO had been PG for 3 years and BiS Gold for one.

BEfore that she had been QP - but it expired and I did not renew about six weeks prior to becoming PG.

(that reminds me - there's an unused invite around somewhere about to expire.)

I'm guessing I'll receive my new PS card (or QP card) and 'pack' in the mail shortly. Or not.

you get two cards! A qantas club card with whatever exiry is left on it, plus a silver qantas cash card. The 'pack' was reduced to a kind of folder/letter in my case. But that might be because I haven't flown QF in nearly two years.
