Just found this interesting. I am amazed how far airlines will go sometimes.

Yeah. BA is a very very petty airline at times. Must be a slow news day, cause hasn't Casino Royale been available in-air for a couple of months now?

It has been playing for a while; I saw it on a BA flight in mid-March.

Can't remember seeing Branson in there so he must have been brushed in that one.

Watched it at the cinema and picked the Branson shot when i saw it, since have seen it never bothered re-watching on a plane.

Seen all the in-flights recently so even watched a Chinese movie on CX the other day, enjoyed it as well, would tell you the name but they never sub titled that !

Which scene is in (or not in as the case may be)?

Re the CX Chinese movie - wasn't it listed in StudioCX?

When it is in, the grinning jumper is at Miami airport at the xray machines from 43'19'' until 43'27'' . Whether he appears for that 9 seconds or not makes no odds to the story; all the bearded one does is go through the x-ray machin and gets 'wanded'; he is only facing the camera for the last 2''

I wonder whether the edit was done just for the BA edition or whether any other carriers copies had this change

I am sure it was, but until i read this thread i never thought about checking.
On the way back i shall check if its still on.

No entertainment of the Dragon Air flight but good service (and a nice meal). And even Y had in seat power on the A321 i was on.

I've seen it inflight (on NZ or was it SQ or EK?) with Branson and VS a/c not edited out.
Your timings ignore any edits previous to this scene ;)

It's news because it is so petty and yet another example of BA putting foot in mouth. If I was a BA shareholder I'd be annoyed they were wasting time & money to do the edits (or get someone else to do them). There are plenty more important things for BA to sort out.

Sure it's petty - but BA aren't the only offenders. Remember 'Rain Man', where Dustin Hoffman's character says something about having to fly Qantas because they're the only airline that hasn't had a crash? Apparently every other airline that showed the movie had those lines excised.

This is understandable because airlines don't like having plane crash discussion in movies on planes, the Branson thing is kind of petty from BA but understandable, why give the guy exposure.

Branson is an egomaniac, but despite disliking him somewhat, I don't dislike him nearly as much as many of the corporate clowns running other major carriers. At least he plays with his own money.
