B77W Business Class Seat Map - Updated!

Anyone else had any success in changing their seat assignment for an existing booking on flight with the new seat layout?
...
I strategically allocated 1A for a flight I have in June some months ago - it has held with the new configuration.

I can't change online and it's an award booking.

I'm curious about the solo seats at rows 7 and 11 and where the door entry is in relation to the business class seating layout.

The seat maps on the VA web site still reflect the current seating layout. It would be nice if VA put up the new seat layouts as well for the 777-300.

I'm not very good with cutting and pasting images into a seat map but I've had a good look at the A332 configs (ex EK, the angled lie flat, and "The Business") and then looked at the advertised seat maps in this thread plus the current 77W seat map, and the images of the cabins at the time of launch and this is what I've come up with as a possible seat map:

Between Doors 1L/R and 2L/R will be rows 1 through 7, 1K doesn't exist due to the forward lav (the ladies one) and 7K doesn't exist due to the aft Lav as both lav's already exist in the current floor plan and 5 seats would/should fit in this space. The Bar service area will then take the space in 7D,G with the bar itself being at the 2L/R entry foyer with seating for pax in the foyer itself. My basis for this thinking is that they fitted 5 rows of the new seats in the space of the 4 rows of angled lie flat on the A332's, and with the extra length in the 77W cabin this should extend to allow for 7 rows of "The Business" in the forward section on the left hand side of the cabin.

This would lead to the aft J cabin being Rows 8 through 11 with no 11D,G due to Galley space for the rear J and W cabins, and 11K will be an additional lav for J class. A bulkhead splits J from W and W will have 3 rows of 8 seats, plus the pantry and a dedicated Lav.

The only bit that I can't work out with my theory is why there is no 20 A,B,C or D,F,G in the Y cabin. Perhaps 20 A,B,C is the W class Lav?? D,F,G then would be a walk through maybe for crew and Y pax to change aisles as this isn't an exit station.

Anyway, it's fun to guess!

Cheers,

Boof

I asked a friend in the know about the seats and this is what they sent me

That definitely answers my question, thanks.

Now all we need is for an assessment of the different seats as to what are the better seat locations and for those seats to avoid. For my SYD-LAX flight in June I have 9A.

Thanks ishkaban!

It all makes sense now. I reckon somewhere in the middle of the first cabin is ideal – far away from galleys and bathrooms, plus there's no benefit to bulkheads (presuming seats are identical to the A330s).

That's one sexy seat map! They almost halved PE to fit the new Js in, I guess we are going to the US/Arizona/Utah for our next, next, next OS trip to get to try out these seats.

From this, it appears 7A and 11A are either going to be the very private seats or the very bad seats to be in depending on how they work dividers and things. If they set 11A up like the current row 5 seats it could be a pretty amazing setup.

PE use to have their own 2 x toilets in front of what was row 10, I wonder if the toilet behind row 17 on the right is PE only.

Given that the toilets have difference colors (purple, grey and red) i'd say that is the PE toilet. I'm glad they decided to keep the small PE self-service larder as well.

There are no self service alcoholic drinks anymore - Staff have to serve such. It was really awkward late last week with the FA needing to reach past seated PAX at the bar to pour them.

With this new setup, there would be an FA behind the bar in Business. I would be surprised if the drinks will be put out for PE PAX with this new configuration.

While you are technically able to self-serve with the current bar, every time I've flown the FAs have been adamant that it's not the done thing, and served rather than allow pax to self-serve.

This doesn't stop people and the FAs aren't (currently) always around. I'd be quite happy if the bar was staffed while people were enjoying drinks, as I usually travel alone I usually have a nice chat with the FAs or other pax before sleeping.

What I hated about the old row 5 was the people hanging out at the bar, being loud and boorish while people (I) was trying to sleep.

Looking at the new map, trying to figure out wheres best to be away from the toilets and the bar.

Looking forward to the trip reports on the new seats as I will be making bookings soon.

Flying VA7 BNE-LAX on April 20th. Seat map was the new config, but now the call centre are saying it's the old plane...... :(

The flight has been delayed 2 hours, not sure if it's connected (don't know why it would be) but it's strange to be delayed this far out.

ash I feel your frustration - just seems to be taking forever for new fitout to debut.

I'm annoyed too because I would like to put in 2 different seat requests - I don't want to be split across the aisle on the old config (could think of nothing worse), but on the new one it seems to be the better option. Oh well, hope our flight on the return leg at the end of May is the new config!

Expert flyer is still showing an OK seat map for me, but will be watching closely ...
