I'm on VA1 on June 7 to LAX and my seat allocation still reflects the new layout.

I'm hoping someone will be flying on the new configured 777 before then and can provide a report.

It all makes sense now. I reckon somewhere in the middle of the first cabin is ideal – far away from galleys and bathrooms, plus there's no benefit to bulkheads (presuming seats are identical to the A330s).

From all reports, the 777 seats will be identical in design, just a tad wider at 23", instead of the A330's 21" version. Also, the screen will be 18" compared to 16" on the domestic.

We went for 3K and 4K for our flights. Other half feels sick when sitting in the middle.

Hope no-one is booked on VA1 09 11 or 13 April, or on VA2 07 09 or 11 April. Looks to be delays in getting the aircraft out on time, these dates have now reverted to the old seat map.

More delays.

VA2 is still on the old seat map for the next few days. The refurbished bird should be taking flight 19 April at this point in time.

So, they're still keeping to the original scheduled dates but just with a later starting date now as a result of the delays?

These delays may begin to affect those travelling via BNE - they don't start with the new config until SYD is scheduled @100%.
