Have you tried this as a change request? Not sure if this would be accepted via screenshot as changes are not supported online - you could try phoning the support centre and requesting the change.

LM now require miles to be in your account before they will do a screenshot booking. I need to cancel an Asiana F booking so wanted my new booking in place before I did. Grh....

Better to is write on the email how many miles the booking requires, how many miles you have and note that you will purchase the rest over the phone at time of payment so LM will know you are ware you don’t have enough, otherwise they will offer alternative options that match the number of miles currently in the account.

Has anyone noticed that LM has secretly removed the ability to book mixed cabin online ? Previously if you book mixed J/F you can get a reduced rate. It won't allow you to do that anymore. Eg. I tried to search ORD-HND-SYD, despite ORD-HND available in NH F and HND-SYD available in J, it won't allow you to book F/J online. It will only show availability if the same cabin is available on both legs. Not sure if SS is possible. But even if they allow screenshots, would they give you reduced rate or full F rate?

Last year I did a F-J screenshot booking and got the reduced rate. Might depend on the agent?

There seems to be a current deal giving discounts on selected Star Alliance award flights to/from Asia (intra-Asia and to Europe/North America).

It seems business class from BNE, SYD and MEl TG to Europe has pretty much dried up -- anyone have an insight into this?

Nope. Maybe it is to do with the upcoming devaluation? (a rush of bookings). But TG has been patchy for the last couple of months. First with UA pulling it outright, then once they brought it back it was pretty much the end (possibly people with UA miles snapping them up when they got the chance).

Or possibly TG is just wanting to get better yields. If everyone knows they can get cheap seats without paying full price... well.. no one pays full price (or very few). TG has an extraordinarily generous FF policy - up to 8 seats in business class are released as a starting point. Out of a small cabin that quite a lot of seats.

As it stands, TG is pretty much on par with the like of QF in terms of availability... almost none :(

Yeah, so different to a couple of years ago. Still not too bad ex-HKG to Europe etc, but the value isn't the same. It was a bit too good to be true. I'll keep looking, hoping it will suddenly open up again...

Seems TG switched from wide open availability to T-7. It’s possible to get J/F closer to date but almost nothing later.

It was a bit too good to be true.

Alternatively... all good things must come to an end :) There was massive availability for years on TG, right back to the US Airways days. When our dollar was above parity with the USD we were getting business class flights for just a few dollars more than revenue economy fares on Qantas.

Has anyone made a phone booking with LM?

Trying to book via screen shot since mid May 20 and it's painful.

Simple booking....Australia-Japan.

I'm referring to booking via email with a screenshot.
Reply (if any) takes at least a week and by that time the requested flights are gone.

See my earlier post on this:

It may or may not work but worth a try. Good luck!

Yes luck is definitely needed when booking with LM..LOL

Will give it a go if I don't hear back this weekend.

I ended up calling on the Monday but basically the rep said I have to send an email. I explained that I had sent multiple so she put me on hold while she contacted the booking department, then skype cut out after 5 mins...FFS lol

So I sent a new email from a new address and it only took 2 days for them to call and I paid taxes etc.

This was the hardest time I have ever had dealing with LM. Seems it gets harder each time, took almost 4 weeks to book a screen shot booking. One of the problems is the time lag, they take so long that the requested flights are often gone by the time they try to book them.

My advice to anyone looking to book is have multiple backup flights planned. Also make sure you know your 4 digit phone pin, I forgot mine and it held up the booking process because I had to log in and change it.

More importantly... when for? Availability is almost non existent at the moment to and from AU on TG

I booked for August 1.

I wanted to go in July. When I first started looking 4-5 weeks ago there was July 12,18,19,29,30 available but I watched them drop like flies while I was awaiting the magic email. Quite frustrating lol

Lifemiles showing signs of desperation with practically ongoing sales from the beginning of this year.

All these sales on buying points and You can’t use them . Ever since the website upgrade , the availability is really difficult. I’ve searched to and from Europe all next year for 2 people and it’s only Showing Y.
I wonder if lifemiles realise
