re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Im trying to book a flight PER-TOR feb 4 2015

i keep getting an error when i choose my flight schedule.

Can someone please try get past the flight selection point and let me know if it works?

driving me crazy!

Perhaps try a different origin eg SYD or destination somewhere close to TOR to see which part of the details is the problem

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

I find trying to find flights into/from YYZ regularly times out. A number of other Canadian destinations also. Seems to be the case when looking for routes that are mostly serviced by Air Canada - could be an issue when searching requires results from that airline.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Hi guys,

I'm sure this has been discussed but I can't seem to find it. Has anyone noticed that trying a multi-city option in Lifemiles only allows 3 legs with no ability to add additional legs under *A or individual airlines? It will allow you more if you select Avianca but the routes are obviously limited.

So for example you could route from MEL - LHR getting TG out to BKK, then TG or SQ to SIN and SQ to LHR but can't do the same on the way back. Just wanted to ask if there is any way around this or another case what you see is what you get? Not really an issue, just curious on what's obtainable on this UI.

There is no advantage to using the Multi City (other than maybe saving $USD25), you can't select the same date for arrival and departing flight so can't create a layover in a certain place that way. You may as well buy one way tickets.

Thx travelislife. I guess I was trying to be smart about airline choice as opposed to saving cash: Eg. Flying SQJ on an A380 as opposed to TG J on on A340. Was just seeing what was possible....

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Whats the story with TG J these days BKK - SYD. While I was using United rather than LM as my search tool it seems there is no TG J availability anymore (this is November), only Y and F. I'm trying to get back from Rangon mid November to SYD, SQ J seems to have no saver availability, aside from RGN I have tried from SIN, KUL, BKK, I have flights up ticketed OK on SQ but waitlisted on the way back and am trying to find alternatives. Can get from RGN to BKK/KUL/SIN for under $100 so you would think I have options but not having much luck. And now TG J appears to be a no go zone.

Not sure why no TG J, but if you are willing to wait till 14 days out and are a bit flexible for mid November I reckon you would almost be guaranteed for SQ to open up.

Interesting! I'm getting all sorts of results from BKK-SYD including via PVG and DEL! But not on TG.

I am finding 1 and 2 seats (not sure how many you need) on TG from RGN to MEL on selected dates in November. Arriving 1305, so maybe a domestic connector?

Thanks, actually the main reason I started looking is that the e-Visa requires confirmed flight out of Myanmar so not sure if I will get confirmation of SQ opening up in time. You can get a flight from RGN to BKK for about $48 and would actually quite like a few days in BKK or SIN on the way back. Actually hadn't even considered getting from RGN back but maybe an option too. 1 or 2 seats is fine, travelling alone but possibly meeting up with my wife.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Guys does anyone know any quick and easy way to earn LMs ?

My account is back to zero but now SWMBO reckons a trip to Asia would be a good idea lol but of course the promo is over and I have nothing in my account and 2xJ trips to Asia return I need 76k miles which is a touch more than the annual limit I believe ?

Is there any quick and easy way to earn just 1,000 LMs ?

You can't transfer miles between accounts with LM can you ?

Thanks

Ahhh, I see. Is the destination something to do with your screen name? Clever. :)

There might be another promo next month, which of course is not that far away.

Not all Asia. I believe Central Asia is going up

Is CMB/MLE scheduled to need more miles or less miles after the changes take effect ?

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Not sure if this is what you are after but this chart is applicable from 15 October... https://www.lifemiles.com/eng/inc/starredawardsrow.aspx

..and here are the charts that Wozz posted on 19 July (posts 57 and 47)... http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/airline-frequent-flyer-programs/avianca-lifemiles-will-commence-reassesment-61520-6.html#post1085101

I recall the chart, and it is in this thread (somewhere). Perhaps look around the date the changes were announced. I got my email telling me about the changes on the 19th July.
