Thanks Chrizztofa. In the end I bought 200,000 Avios with UD$. It was US$2,170 which works out at 1.56 AU cents per Avios. So very good value. e.g. Qatar business class Brisbane to Europe return (180,000 Avios): A$2,808 + taxes and fees.

Or $1400 if you can find the saver awards at 90k Avios. Harder to find than they used to be , but can be found if you’re able to book a year ahead.
