I think there are a few of us in a similar position. :)

Mine is the same, but a couple of weeks ago (April) I got into LH Senator lounge in Dusseldorf by just reading out the numbers to the lounge angle (I did not have a card printout with me and it would have shown it was already expired anyway) and she just checked the system to ensure eligibility and waved me in.

Hoping this will be the case next week

I contacted them on Twitter, they wouldn't confirm if soft drop to Gold but did confirm that reviews will be completed Mid-May.

I have a flight coming up VA codeshare on SQ and was going to use my O6 diamond to try out the new NZ lounge in MEL, my account shows as Diamond but print out of card shows expiry 30 March 17.

According to the Star Alliance handbook, provided the appropriate status is reflected on the boarding pass there is no requirement to present a physical card.

I've never had to show the card, i've never received a physical card despite crediting to the program. I'm just going to ask at checkin if it shows *G still, otherwise I will just punch in my VA WP so I can at least use the Krisflyer lounge

I have good news on this front.

It is indeed a soft landing.

Even better, if you are currently Diamond you will drop to Amigo Gold which is also Star Gold. I have had this confirmed by email from Avianca.

Hi Danger, where did you get your replied email from Avianca?

I have tried to contact with their customer service person via facebook. I got the reply:" ....At the moment it's not possible to request the physical card due to reassessment of the card category attributed to the amigo loyalty program. Please wait until first half of the month of July and request again. You can verify the classification of card categories on our regulation, please, visit the website: www_.pontosamigo.com.br/en/regulamento1" (Please remove the _ after www, because I cannot post link as I am new to this forum)

So I assume they will finish the reclassification during the first half of July. And according to the website they asked me to check, there is NO soft landing.
Please check the section 6.5 in the regulation:
"6.5.As of March 31 of 2017, annually on the same date, a reassessment of the Card Category attributed to the Amigo Member at that time, considering the Qualifiable Points and the segments flown earned in the previous calendar year, from January 01 to December 31 ("Calendar Year"), when then the Card Category downgrade or renewal can occur, i.e., following the criteria established on Clause 6.2. above, the Amigo Member can have its Card Category kept or be reclassified to a Card Category lower than the one established at that time."
Where section 6.2 indicates:
"
6.2. For the classification of Card Categories, the following criteria shall be adopted:a) Bronce: up to 14,999 Qualifiable Points or 19 segments flown;
b) Silver:between 15,000 and 44,999 Qualifiable Points or between 20 and 49 segments flown;
c) Gold: between 45,000 points and 89,999 Qualifiable Points or between 50 and 99 segments flown; and
d) Diamond: from 90,000 Qualifiable Points or 100 segments flown."

Right now, my status is still Diamond and expiration date is 3/30/2017

Soft landings are often not written into the rules because they are a discretionary benefit.

Welcome, terryhover.

On 8 March I received the following on email from Avianca after I specifically raised the issue of what status I would be after 31 March:

In consideration of your email, we inform you that your card can not be sent at this time, as on March 31, 2017 we will have the evaluation for renewal or downgrade of category in the Programa Amigo. We check your registration and there are no flights punctuated to keep you in the Diamond category, so you will be requalified for the Gold category and the new card will begin to be produced from April 2017.

All smooth this afternoon. Stumping it in the new SQ Silverkris in BKK. Looks like several like minded *AG are in here. also. Priority tags and early TG check-in gives time to while away 40+ min in the immigration queue - very dull. No priority line for Aus. passports. However, SK lounge is airy with a good range of hot food and drinks. As was the old SK lounge in Bangers. But noticeably lighter. Now located in D concourse as the SQ flights seems to leave from D4-D6. I'll have to hike back to C for my PNH flight. No showers, though. But pleasant and thanks Amigo - pleased to be *AG still. I credited these flight to O6, as well. Cheers, PJ.

Have been mulling over crediting some flights to Avianca - but need to do an advanced course in interpretation of the new TK website on re-qualifying for Elite first. :)

PJMiller: Have you checked out the EVA lounge at BKK yet? If so, how would you rate it against the Silverkris?

Successful over the last few weeks with O6 still showing as *G in the system. Got the full range of benefits flying Croatia out of CDG just by quoting the number at priority check-in (no physical card). Then got a surprise op-up to J (OK, OK... Euro "business") at the gate -- and this was the first flight I ever actually went through with crediting to O6! ;)

Put the number down on a Adria flight last week too, but it was a super early departure out of Pristina, Kosovo so didn't really get offered (or needed) any benefit out of it.

As for the EVA lounge at BKK, highly recommended! Eye-opening. I'd never seen so much shiny in my life!

Flew on SQ just the other week. Didn't need to use *G benefits but just plugged it in to see what happens, and I still have my status.

I should've added: I had to convince the check-in agent at CDG that yes, Avianca Brasil was really a Star Alliance member, and O6 really was the airline code, so please just try entering it in the system... but it was all smiles once plugged in. It sounds like this is not an uncommon experience anyway. ;)

I'm starting to think I may get to use my gold membership in November! Something I hadn't really even hoped for in March.

. :)

In the EVA lounge in BKK now. Compared with the new SilverKris in BKK exceeds in two key points. Two showers compared to none in SilverKris. Lage tarmac facing windows compared to no tarmac view at all in SK. In EVA, self serve selection of basic spirits red and white wines and self pour draught Heniken. SK drinks served by bar staff. Other hot food is good in both. Lunch just finished in EVA. Thai green curry and choice of two soups, dim sum ,salads and red velvet magnum ice creams, coffee machine. I'd rate EVA better overall than SQ SK because of showers and tarmac view. It is larger, too. P

Pleased I came but it is a hike if, like me, you are to connect on TG flight - to concourse C ( from near F&G). EVA lounge is at the end of the Terminal overlooking concourse F. Thankfully, TG offers all day check-in.

The BKK security and immigration queues outbound today were only 45 minutes collectively, compared with, the incoming last Friday of 1hr 15 wait for immigration into BKK. Thankfully I had no checked baggage. I had no priority inbound to BKK and it was a zoo.

Lesson> use your O6 status and come to BKK early if wanting to lounge hop *G a bit. Its a sobering walk from EVA lounge in concourse F to C concourse for my flight on TG. Fortunately, still 2 hours to boarding. I may drop into the SK on the way back. Cheers:D PJ
