I have been asked to post the following questions for the AFF brains trust to consider and advise :
1) Best lounge to use at MEL, flying TK codeshare, TG metal, in J, with Star Gold status.
2) Best lounge at BKK, flying TK, in J, with Miles&Smiles Elite status
3) Best lounge at LHR, flying TK, in J, with Miles&Smiles Elite / Star Gold status.

Thanks in advance

I would be interested in some of those answers, too.
For MEL, I would have started with NZ - but that would depend on opening hours?
Would SQ be the place to start for BKK?

Eva Air and SQ in Bangkok - Eva Air is worth it just to have a look at the design, f&b on par with SQ. Avoid Thai lounges at all costs

New NZ lounge at MEL looks good. SQ usually has decent food when open.

Yes, that was my experience on my sole visit to SQ in SYD, too.
NZ MEL seems to have fairly limited operating hours? So would depend on flight departure times for non-NZ Star Alliance flights.

Late to the party, but just want to vehemently agree with both the first and last part of this!

The EVA lounge decor is truly eye-opening to say the least (so, so incredibly shiny), and the showers were decent too. On the other hand, I'd hate for anybody to inadvertently walk into a TG lounge with expectations, like I unfortunately did. :D
