Australian state border restrictions

Yes it was surprising NSW was late with the app given VIC isn’t opening for another week or so and they had theirs ready first. I have them all ready to go for when I travel next (doubt will be using much though unless very required 😆)
Don’t know how long it will last for but every “non essential” store at Westfield has security/ staff on the door checking both Vaccine certificates and covid check-in.
Likewise the vast majority of the pubs / cafes in my area.

I saw an older lady being turned away from David Jones as unvaccinated. She wasn’t one bit happy about it 🤦🏼‍♀️

Give it until Christmas….max. Imagine the sale period trying to do that. Plus by then so many people will be fully vaccinated it probably won’t even matter.

People still shop there 😂

And then on 1 Nov when Vic hits 80% double dose everything opens?
I'm not too sure that everything opens at 80%. Dan will dole out a couple more 'freedoms', many of which will be irrelevant. I'm surprised they haven't decided to do it by LGA. Yes, very difficult to police, but might act as an incentive to those areas that are being slow. Personally, I'd be tying each increased level of freedom for the vaccinated, to additional restrictions for the rest.... The fact that the unvaccinated can see themselves being released, without having done their bit, is retarding the rollout.
The checkin app is now ready - came through about 9pm last night. Need to update the Service NSW app to v7.

You then link from the Medicare Express app.
I found it to be a bit painful to get installed. It seems to be there now, but unlike the Victorian app, you can't display the certificate, so it's a bit hard to tell. I'll check it at Dan Murphy's later.

You can definitely display the certificate in the current new version of the Services NSW App.
I updated mine last night and added the certificate.43FC2B64-5791-445C-9177-7E8AA4215234.png

In that case, it isn't working. The Medicare app says that it's linked. I'll scratch my head for a while....
They were saying that the API integration to the feds was overloaded at the press conference. Give it a few hours

Are you definitely sure you updated Service NSW? Medicare will say it's linked but will no nothing unless Service NSW is updated.

If you go to check in and click recent, it should show you the last place you checked in and has a new proof of vaccination section

Yep just linked mine to Service NSW without issue, was offered a choice of NSW and Vic only, hopefully can link to the CBR (and other state) app soon too.

You need to install the latest version of the NSW App and then transfer over from Medicare either the App or the website

Fully vaxed in NSW red zones will be able to enter Victoria as from 19 October. Negative test 72 hours before, then iso pending -ve test.

A big step but the whole iso thing is stupid. There's 5 x the number of cases per day in Victoria.

Actually, you might be better iso'ing as you have a higher chance of getting it in the community in Victoria than you have bringing it in from NSW.

Yes. I had the newest version of the app. The Medicare app said that it was linked, but it wasn't. So, I unlinked it. Hard rebooted the phone, and tried to link again. Now it works. I guess booting after installing the new version of the app might be the missing step, but, who knows.

If the need for testing to travel to Vic isn't removed before Christmas I will be cancelling January travel.

Meanwhile, looks like it's a 5/6 week wait just to get the roadmap for when the QLD border will reopen.

Mrs D’Ath said a road map for eased border restrictions could be expected within five to six weeks.

“We have no time to waste.”

Dr Young said that there has been an “enormous change” that was still being workshopped regarding the QLD and NSW borders and new arrivals.

If that is the case I cannot see how QLD border will open before Christmas. May as well go to Fiji.

Playing off the odds in my mind of WA being open to VIC by early March for a family wedding against just saying bugger it and going overseas...hmm...
