Oh dear - Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital pathology has confirmed an additional 995 people were prematurely sent an SMS advising them their test was negative, when their true result was yet to be determined.
You don’t need to have the test result to apply for the border pass to QLD. I’d taken the test but didn’t have results, but could still answer the question. I uploaded the other documents required and applied. They asked to see the text message result separately at airport on arrival.
If you don‘t attach it, it will still work thoWrong, I just did my Qld border pass request a few hours ago. I needed to attach copy of passport/Drivers license, the proof of my vacicnation and proof of my negative result.

Yeah I guess that is a risk. That being said I’ve never heard of anyone getting scanned yet. No one looked at minePerhaps but if you get asked to show it and they scan the code you they will know, not worth the hassle of not uploading it. I dont want to be unlucky one who then has to pay a $4k fine.
If only this was the case. I think people are more amenable to using sick leave compared to two years ago, but I feel like there's still plenty of coughs and sniffles around if you look for them when out in publicWe don’t test for the common cold, and yes people with a cold will generally stay home to prevent “spreading it”.

Those’ll fall once QLD stops requiring a test to enter.
Is anyone in the least surprised that people are turning off phones… it’s a little bit funny imagining the conversations going on rn…
I wonder if it’s a pandemonium crisis yet

Fears of multiple test dodgers in WA as state records one new coronavirus case
Western Australia has recorded one new coronavirus case amid concerns that dozens of close contacts of an infected backpacker
are dodging authorities.
The new case reported on Monday is a woman aged in her 20s who is a close contact of a positive case.
Of those close contacts, 86 are still yet to be tested, including 39 from the Perth Mess Hall event as authorities struggle to locate them. Over 300 causal contacts have not presented for testing either.
WA Police are now involved in tracking down those yet to be tested, believed to be mainly backpackers.
Mr McGowan said many had their phones turned off and could not be reached.
He said it was very worrying that those considered a close or casual contact were still yet to come forward.

Gee, I hope he isn't wondering why they aren't. Perhaps the locking up in a hotel for 14 days and then treated like mud by the rest of the community? He said it was very worrying that those considered a close or casual contact were still yet to come forward.
Remind me, when was the last time a healthy, vaccinated person died?
Case fatality rate:
number of deaths divided by number of confirmed infections by infections in %
0.1% for age group 0-59 but progressively rises to 46% for males and 33.5% for females in 90+ age group
I believe I have been a compliant citizen over the past two years but the last week or so has changed my outlook moving forward in regards to COVID. Huge lines and wait times, having to quarantine , rules changing every 5 seconds, people making stuff up on the fly has just convinced me that no one has a clue.
The only reason I will get a test if it’s a requirement for overseas travel. If I have flu like symptoms I will not go and get tested. I will stay at home and only leave the house if I require essentials. If I’m sick I will wear my mask in public places and that’s about as far as I will go.
Me staying at home for 14 days is not going to flatten the curve. It’s out there for good and I’m ok with that.
Ive had my 2 jabs and me doing what I stated above is as effective as any other system out there without getting the label of having ‘COVID‘ and needing to quarantine.
Rant over
Backpackers - no one worries about the number of backpackers who die each year from their antics...
Covid is more dangerous than those Moon parties and methanol laced drinks
