What?
I have personally swabbed quite a lot of babies and toddlers. All under 5 in NSW must be seen by a Dr.
In a scale of unpleasant things for little ones it seems to be about the same IME as having an Otoscope inserted, requires a lot of parental cooperation and firm swaddling.

An AFF poster a few nights ago said that wearing a mask reduces risk by 87.5%

At the very start of the pandemic, it was suggested that sick people wearing masks significantly reduces the risk of transmission from that person significantly. Some reduction in exposure for a wearer of a mask, but not as much as reduction in the transmission.

Behaviourally and socially no doubt easier to suggest or require all individuals that are coming in proximity of others to wear a mask, irrespective of whether aiming to prevent the transmission of the virus from the wearer, or aiming to prevent transmission to the wearer.

I think most of those members involved in that infamous thread have subsequently found another life somewhere else 😂

But sure if the population can be trained on proper mask use, maybe. But we seem to be struggling with simpler concepts like how many family members can attend a house party so I don’t hold out much hope. Will probably just spread virus faster.

And it also depends on the mask used.Tassie retested all masks for use in this current situation and many of the Chinese masks failed.

And there was a Professor saying of course masks work because why do doctors wear them when treating Covid patients?Well she almost certainly had not been treating Covid patients.First they do not wear the usual surgical masks but definitely higher rated ones.Second if treating a known Covid case usually wearing a face shield as well plus gowning up and a hair covering and doing all of this in a set routine in a dedicated gowning area plus a separate area to take off the protection in a set order.

And despite all that quite a few health care workers did develop Covid 19.

Further, many Liberal politicians both federal and local are having a field day trying to blame the black lives matter for these outbreaks. The Victorian government health and human services department according to the RMIT fact check says BLM March is not responsible for the latest outbreak.
And, if that doesn’t work they are going to blame anybody else who is not one of theirs, as one example shown below.

One of these liberal politicians refer to the BLM marches as “10,000 hooligans”. Very helpful.

According to a Victorian Upper House MP.

The Victorian Government hasn’t been running disease quarantines, they’ve been running disease incubators.

Maybe not directly, as in created infections amongst themselves, but certainly in SA where the Commissioner actually gave approval, then told everyone else to stay at home, do this, don't do that, well, I must admit I was rather inclined to tell him where to put his advice and smoke it!

So the indirect effect is most certainly there, even with this old granny. So why on earth would people not celebrate an important religious event and this is likely an issue with the spread.

Basically the BLM changed some people's mindsets to following the rules. I became somewhat of an anarchist. I think I posted that here at the time.

Yes, ANZAC day couldn't go ahead, grieving families couldn't mourn their dead, but BLM got the wink and a nudge to go ahead with thousands. If there wasn't so much direct transmission because of it, I think the change in people's attitudes would have contributed to the current outbreak. "Meh. It can't be all that serious if they let all those people march in close proximity."

Certainly the administration of certain 'Labor politicians' has contributed. Ooops, there's that silly politicisation again ...

In this case, SA and Victoria wear different colours.

So, one State has a major outbreak after the BLM and happens to have a Labour Premier. All the other BLM marches in all States including Liberal run States didn’t get a post BLM outbreak.

So, it seems a another illogical and yes, “silly” argument below.

Ably assisted by the right wing media that has been against everything Dan Andrews has done. The BLM was always going to go ahead and it had to be handled in a way that ensured it was done as safe and peacefully as possible.

When Dan kept the state locked down longer than other states there was tremendous pressure and even abuse from right wing media and the Liberal Party with repeated demands to open up the state.

No matter what he has implemented it's always been wrong.

Another theory from the experts:

So, one State has some more cases, they have a Labor Premier and also have by far the best coffee, cafe and restaurants in the country.

All other States including Liberal run States have less great food and also less detected cases.

Is this somehow linked?

Oi. I take exception to the food and coffee comments. Why do you think on Masterchef the current majority in the finals are from SA? And are all frequently seen at Central Market.

Maybe just maybe it wasn’t a good idea for Dan to use rent a cops for such a high risked task

Cops can't be rented, what are you talking about. Police are employed by the government. This isn't Facebook, fight fake news  😂

Is what one State did different to what any of the other States did re using ‘security’ companies ? And, if so, all the other states and territories that have had quarantine hotels with no outbreaks, we should learn from them. That might be a useful thing to do. Presumably if there is an unbiased sorting out of what happened down the track lessons will be learned.

Are many of these same contractors called 'bouncers' when employed at night time? Cause they're all fine, upstanding and intelligent employees... How could anything have gone wrong?
