Australian Dual Citizens Entering UK after February

A quick check of BBC UK News and The Times this morning hasn't yielded any 'Chaotic scenes at Heathrow'-esque stories.

I heard that checkin staff in Australia would accept an expired passport for a short period. I expect they haven't even considered the issue of kids or adults who had citizenship by descent. Australia as birth place on the passport likely enough.

That is the million dollar question. I have two kids aged under 18. One has an expired British passport, the other has never held one as we just haven't got around to it. Both I and her Mum are dual nationals with current UK passports.

It was raised in UK parliament today.

Of course the minister answered that everything was fine, they’ve been telling people about this since 2024 with “clear messaging” and “comprehensive guidance”, etc etc. Usual politician rubbish waffle.
