Not jealous much, @CaptJCool. Couldn't organise my trip to CBR to correspond with the Test match dates:(

Have a cold ale for me (yeah, I know you will...:D)

Looks like that was Burns doffing his cap (helmet actually)and waving his bat after scoring his ton...

Yes he’s doffing !

Heads on 98. And yes an Adelaide lad

It’s a cool temp today 22 degree so a late arvo booze up maybe. But I’m sure to get one in the next 5 days

Head breaks the drought as well:

59.1
4 runs
MDK Perera to Head, FOUR runs, a full toss, he skips down and drives wide of mid off! A boundary to bring up his maiden Test century! After a summer drought, Australia get two centuries within an hour. Head gets his first Test hundred in his second Test as vice-captain

Forgot to post this drought breaking partnership:

MDK Perera to Burns, 3 runs, angled down leg, he tickles this fine past the keeper and they get three. 200 run partnership

The first 200-run partnership for Australia since December 2017. That's just too long...

Wow, head has build up a head of steam and charging after Burns by dispatching a number of 4's - score differential down to 6 (115 to 109)

No, Burns will have none of that - crash, bang and now up to 124 and back up to 15 differential.

From 3/28. A huge partnership.

Runs flowing quite fast

Now in the 65th over with along way to go til late stumps

The old MCG Scoreboard BTW

Nice. Better go and check the record books:

C Karunaratne to Burns, FOUR runs, over-pitched again and he leans into a comfortable cover drive, smoking it through the gap between cover and mid off. 250 partnership is up

somebody did it for me:

200 up after 50 overs with Burns 93 and Head 86...hmmm, after the first hour, the game has swung our way.
Was there ever any doubt? The best of the Sri Lankan bowlers averages 33 per wicket. Some average in the 40's. Good batting practice.

Worked from home today. Love the home office

Actually, that's the stat I was going to research...

This is a new record partnership for Australia against Sri Lanka passing Dean Jones and Steve Waugh's 260-run stand in 1989

So they are both angling to get to 150 first, as the 4's are flowing...Head 136 and Burns 140. 3/300

Also backing up a little bit, another tasty morsel:

Ashley: "New 4th wkt partnership record for Aust v SL - passing 245 by Hussey & Shaun Marsh in 2011/12"

Currently 273 and climbing

The last couple of overs they've starting to slow down and score 1's and 2's ... still, good to rotate the strike and get the Lankans frustrated by changing the field.

Head now ahead (pun intended) in the scoring department - 147 to 141.

Chris: "When was the last time two Aussie batsmen both scored 150 in the same partnership?" In the third Ashes Test of 2017

de Silva to Head, no run, is this out caught at slip? The Sri Lankans think it is. He chopped a cut onto his boot and it popped up and slip caught it. The umpires send it upstairs with a soft signal of OUT. The replay shows it came off inside edge onto foot onto the ground clearly. This will be NOT OUT. Ambitious appeal. Good reaction by Mendis to catch it. Strange call from the on field umpires

No idea how they came up with soft decision OUT before sending it upstairs.....swayed by the noisy, excited Lankans I think.

Head first to 150 (off 193 balls):

de Silva to Head, 1 run, fuller outside off, he skips down and drives firmly to long off. 150 for Travis Head,

Now he needs to get to 192 - his top Test score (does have a 200+ List A score).

Drinks This is getting really ugly for Sri Lanka. A 300-run partnership is four runs away and there's still 19 overs left to bowl today.

That's the 300 run partnership:

de Silva to Head, FOUR runs, a full toss, filthy delivery, heaved through the leg side...not that far from midwicket, but got what it deserved and that's the 300 stand

Next ball present, dropped by the bowler:

de Silva to Head, no run, dropped by the bowler! In and out. Head skipped down the pitch, drove it firmly but straight to him

Head has found a new head of steam and skipping away from Burns. Now out to 161 n.o. whilst Burns is languishing on 149. 3/336
