Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just one more $10,000 for $54 for me earlier this morning. It is hard labour doing so much so little at a time but it is the challenge and the redemption prizes that have warped me.

Many of us have benefited from your "warping" cove, and do the same happy dance around the ceremonial totem pole of points harvesting.

Apparently there is a CBA business Amex that might still be working at the ATO at 1.5 points rate. I don't have this card but it would probably have an earning cap on points.
St George Amplify seems to struggle to work and a family member is doing a tester.

There are reports of HSBC issued cards still paying points as well, some have slipped through the crack!

Mastercove has been double dipping with a 100,000 sign on Westpac Qantas deal, a St George sign on and the ATO. Mrscove is worried that I have caused this but I feel confident that he just loves frequent flyer points to travel in the best seats available.

Put through a couple bills on the Amex Explorer card via RewardPay yesterday. Earnt Ascent 2MRpts/$ spent @2.4% surcharge, which got posted yesterday or today. Tried to pay another ATO bill today via RewardPay and the card gets decline :(, they said the card is under review, and possibly due to fraudulent activity? So they'll get back to me today or tomorrow.

Did you just use your 13-digit EFT number as the reference (the site asks for 16 or 18 digits, I can't quite remember)? I haven't been able to get an answer from the RewardPay people, which makes me hesitate before sending tens of thousands of dollars through them.

Yeah reference is the EFT code (which is same as PRN). There's nowhere on their site which tells you how to do it. I remember they sent out an email a while back which told you.

Re: Declined card
They just called back saying my latest ATO transaction of ~$7k was declined because of the amount. Card is back up and running.

I favoured World, Q, Citi US and W Kris Flyer Amex for this month and it is all done by 28th.
We can live the dream now but I would have preferred to keep the money instead.

Has anyone put an proper Amex card into credit to pay for large bills? I've only done it with Westpac Amex.

Most "proper" Amex direct CCs pay an improper earn rate. They are a US bank so you are not meant to go substantially into credit. They might put a hold on your account and then refund you. That said I did it once and it wasn't a problem a few years ago when the earn rate was 1.5 points per dollar.
Westpac Amex is not subjected to US banking rules.

Ahh ok. Thanks for letting me know. Might just try and pay off the bill over x days.

I have one CC that has just over a month to go. I guess it is two as my son has the same card and can pitch in every day. The $10,000 processing limit per day still seems to apply.

Gave Qantas cash a try, will have to wait 6-8 weeks to see if points post, otherwise I'm out on all my other cards

I'd be interested in the outcome of that. I checked the product disclosure statement just now and it doesn't mention if any types of transactions don't earn points.

Now Qudos has changed its T&Cs for its Platinum Visa card to slightly less than pathetic I've run out of options for earning points on tax payments.

You must value your points quite highly - .5pts / $ at ~0.5% surcharge, it's pretty hard to see the value.

actual cost is 1.08 cents per .....I value them highly as I use points for Upgrades on economy to business and i reckon by doing that the value is magnified 5 to 6 times IMHO...but i may be wrong BUT that is how I see it.

Amplify still good for the fiscal fiend, as of today.
0.825 at 0.54% seems OK to me
