I suppose Amex surcharge will depend on individual outlets?

For a new offering the speed and consistency of the BP points posting is very impressive indeed to date ......well done.

For my work issued vehicle I have a BP+ card, Shell Fleet Card and a Caltex Star Card.. I travel extensively outside the metro area and we were constantly paying for fuel on corporate credit cards when regional outlets wouldn't accept the Shell Fleet card when we used to just have the one fleet card.

We have about 100 company issued vehicles in the country. Locally we were excited about this Velocity launch as Coles Express lets you earn flybuys on Shell Fleet card purchases. I hadn't yet tried MyerOne for Caltex Star Card, was going to yesterday but the Caltex outlet had no diesel left.

I did scan my velocity before I used my BP+ card but the teller noticed and said points won't earn. Sure enough the receipt stated "Points not valid for this payment type" and nothing came through on my Velocity. This was the first and one and only time I will use BP+ in the metro. I don't think they realised there are companies that have multiple fuel cards and by offering points on it they would get a lot more revenue as I would actually use my BP+ card rather whenever possible than going elsewhere. I've got 900km on a full tank so I can be picky which town/servo I fill up in.

I see that swiping your Virgin Velocity card at "selected BP stations" will finally get you 2 Virgin Velocity points per $.
I am local champion at mine so also get 2 ppd for my AMEX

Here is the link to the selected stations - BP Australia | Travel Planner

I always have a $500 WISH and Coles Group gift card in my wallet that I buy from Woolworths/Coles that I am local champion at. On Amex Platinum Edge that I only transfer to Velocity at times where there is a 15% bonus it means I earn 4.6 points per dollar whenever I use these gift cards at Woolworths petrol or Coles express (or Big W, Kmart, Myer, DSE etc.)

I only fill up my personal car once every 3-4 weeks as I have a company issued business-use-only car during the week. Given this I would never retain local champ at my local BP. So I'm already getting 4.6ppd for fuel at Woolworths and Coles Express compared to the ~4ppd I would earn at BP (2 ppLitre and 2.3 ppdolaar)

If I didn't have a work car and could maintain local champion would be a good additional points earner.

Hmmmm. I swiped the registered temp card last Friday and points are still not in our account so tried again today.

Anyone else having a delay in receiving BP points?

Tried this for the first time today, and it all seemed to work. The 2 points/L does somewhat penalize those of us who have to buy premium fuel. Each point is more expensive. Still really pleased with it, though.

Did you make sure that you linked that temporary card to your velocity account? I heard them explaining this to the man in front of me at my local servo. Seems you have to open your own velocity account and then link the temp card they give you.

On this points on LPG are dirt cheap.... I'm actually surprised it has been included (as it isn't on EDR)

45L LPG = $31
45L 98 octane = $66

Both earn 90 points (with LPG consumed at a much higher rate than petrol = more fills).

Big win for LPG users, especially combined with a BP LPG autogas rewards card (2c off per L) :D

Taxi drivers take note.

The ridiculous outdoor ads running in Melbourne could actually work for you.

"Fill up in Werribee. Fly to the Whitsundays".

Or companies like mine that have close to 300 vehicles, 50% of trucks, and use Motorpass, so can go to BP, Woolworths/Caltex, Shell, 7/11, United etc.

I would have switched to BP straight away, but looks like ill be sticking with Caltex now.

First BP fill up today as I didn't have a WW voucher. Nice to have an alternative.

The fact that there is a place for SCs to be listed excites me.

Its quite weird to see my tiny suburb bring used as the place in Adelaide. And on a huge billboard at Adelaide airport.

You should get a print out from the counter person for the purchase that should show on the bottom of the receipt (you have earnt 24 point-$12 purchase), and then 6 points if you use VGW to pay, later in your VGW account, which then transfers to VF FF statement.
Give it a few days more.
One thing though, with the temporary card, you still need to physically go to your VF FF account, and link the temporary card to your account. If you have not linked the data on the temporary card, do it before your next spend at BP/OTR (SA).
I already got the VGW, but my impression, from the first time, I thought it was a separate card, but the counter person in my case said, to try the VGW first, and it worked for me, the 24 points on a base spend of $12 appeared in my VGW account few days later.
