After having the pleasure of meeting a lot of people from FT (most of whom also post here) like Dave Noble, IainF, AnderB, Press Photog, bravoecho1, Willyroo, Craigo, Alan in CBR, Kiwi Flyer, og, thadocta, ozstamps, etc, I'd consider them friends now.
Hmm, looks like I didn't make the list of friends   .

:D :D :D No, but I do frequent a few internet forums for drummers, and aside from extraordinarily bad language, there is also a lot of bad spelling and "leet speak". After reading for a while it begins to rub off! :D
Q: Why are concert intermissions always 20 minutes?

A: So they don't have to re-train the drummer :D .

Oi!!! :D :D :D

Q: What do you say to a guitar player in a 3-piece suit?

A: "Will the defendant please rise..."

Boom, Boom

Now I know why I am always banished to the business side of the mixing console.

Ah... the person with all the power! Never argue with the sound engineer.

Although drummers like to refer to them as the "sound chimp".

You 2 enjoying yourselves? I know I am not very popular with my posting style. Anytime you 2 feel down just have your fun at my expense. I really hope it makes you 2 feel better.

I wasn't having a go at you JohnK - just poking fun at myself for spelling (spleling) badly and then for being cough enough to have to correct myself. My wife thinks I have a mild case of OCD. I just call it "a touch of the Seinfelds".
I took the comments with a grain of salt. :p If I stir people I expect people to stir me back.

Just thought I would post something so that I could pad my post count.

There's plenty of us there though :!:

Quickly and efficient rectified, NM, but suitably chastened  sorry...

Also omitted ozmerish, Bundy Bear, serfty, JohnSydney2000, kpc, meloz, Russell Corr, shillard, tinkybelle, ...

Now anybody else think they missed out on the list, while I'm at it?? :D  :p

straitman, these are people I've actually met and/or talk to on a (semi)-regular basis. Unfortunately, we missed each other in BNE earlier this year (or was it 2004??). Maybe 2006 will see others elevanted to this august group

Understood Lindsay. I've managed to avoid everyone up until now. That's life :!:

I'm still aiming for The FT "Oz Fest #3" - Brisbane - Memorial Day weekend May 26-28, 2006 so with any luck I'll catchup with a lot of people all at once. -- and then forget who's who

... and I'm sure a few of you east coasters wouldn't mind hubbing here either!
Is that hubbing out of Perth or russia?

Oh my. How easily a thread goes off topic.

JohnK, if you give it (and you'll have to admit you do dole it out), then you have to expect to get it (and accept it from others as they accept it from you). Being able to laugh at one's own foibles is important in life, IMHO.
If you notice in one of my posts further up the thread that is exactly what I said.

I am the first that would poke fun at myself.

I decided a long time ago that I don't care what people (who haven't met me), think of me. It just words (sticks and stones...). But once people know me, then they can make an informed decision.
I do care what people think of me, it is just sometimes things I say/write come out, or are interpreted, the wrong way. I don't mean to intentionally hurt anyone. I think I pretty much know you from your posts and the plan as it stands is we will meet for a drink in BNE airport on Boxing Day.

Elevated back to the top of the a-list. Oh how quickly life can change. :D

I realised I must have been one of the etc's. in the first post; thanks for the clarifiaction. Now, when/whare is the next OZ AFF/FT AGM? :D

That's for another thread, I think we've thrown this one far enough off topic. But it will be ~24 Feb 06, which was the date of the FT BNE QP inaugural AGM.

Hmmmm... :? ~24 Feb 06 was the date of the FT BNE QP inaugural AGM.

The inaugural AGM, spoken of in the past tense but 2 months away. There is a bit of "Back to the Future" involved here.

Any thought of changing the dates Lindsay, or holding another in the year? As with past February's I wont be able to make this unless something really unexpected happens.

IIRC, it was also the date of AGM #2. The coming 24th Feb is a Wednesday. Perhaps around the weekend before?

JohnK, yes, a slip of the keyboard there...

Kiwi Flyer, we can have an EAGM (Extraordinary AGM) anytime you're over....let me know when (but the AGM is always around that date).

We have certainly done that a few times before, so it would be an honour to have an EAGM at a time suitable to Kiwi Flyer. If enough regulars are available, we may even make it very extraordinary and meet someplace different as some of us did a few months back.
