There are probably plenty of domestic road warriors here still battling on.

What's it looking like? Are people still flying or are planes literally empty?

It's effective immediately but with border control from 24 March 4pm (presumably meaning the major road borders?)

What are they going to do with interstate trucks? Or are they expecting all road freight to bypass SA?

WA borders will shut on Tuesday as well - after 1:30pm all travellers will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.

Those arriving by road may be required to quarantine immediately across the border (in Kununurra or Eucla) and the Premier is talking about using Rottnest Island as a quarantine location, perhaps for those arriving by air.

What are they going to do with interstate trucks?
"[SA Premier] Steven Marshall said there would be some “logical exceptions” to the quarantine requirements, particularly around freight."

and the WA police commissioner Chris Dawson said "cargo and essential services would be exempt from the quarantine requirement. Some travel associated with the mining sector will also be allowed, but that exemption only applies to critical staff on mine sites and oil and gas sites. "

What's the latest with the Victorian and New South Wales borders? Flights still running later this week do you think? What are My chances of getting to Sydney mid or late this week to buy a car and drive it back to Geelong (VIC)?

We're booked to travel JQ OOL-SYD last flight Wednesday before Easter and return VA SYD-OOL Easter Monday mid afternoon.

Is there likely to be a travel ban at the time? In some countries hotels have been closing but not here yet. Have booked 2 nights at Casino which is fully refundable and not yet booked other 3 nights.

Would hate to be stuck in BNE for Easter break but these are tough times. Who knows when it will be safe to travel again.

I would think its only a matter of time before both NSW and QLD bring in the 14 days self isolation laws. Personally I think pretty much zero chance of interstate travel at Easter

You're right. QLD Parliament has just voted to close border. :(

The borders might be open but non-essential travel that's not part of your regular activities is discouraged.

Son in law (FIFO) fly back from Mt Isa last night to brisbane - only 15 on the 717....

I'm lucky that March is generally a month in the office for me after trips to MEL (twice) in Jan & Feb. So no flights to cancel or postpone. I have trips planned for ADL and PER in May, then SYD & MEL in June. As I own my own business, I developed my own Travel Policy. I think once we're released from mandatory isolation, deals will be good, so I'll be waiting for them to be announced.

Flew QF on SYD-PER last Thursday morning and the flight was 50% full. I was in J and my two adult kids in Y, but they had four seats each. We did have a medical emergency on board in the smaller J cabin, and they moved three of the pax in that section up to the front J cabin so that gives you an idea of the loading.

However, the 11pm red eye from PER to SYD on Monday night was a different story. Could not even pay for a J seat, there was only two Y seats available and to make matters worse the Lounge was closed so no sleeping medication taken. We had 1.5inchs of separation between pax (slightly less than is required) and very few pax wearing a face mask. Even being aware of the air filtering system on planes my daughter insisted on the three of us wearing one (she is a theatre nurse) and I never win any arguments with her in any event.

Sydney and Perth airport/s were both like ghost towns, with no lines at security and hardly any shops open airside.

Next international flight is SYD-HND-SEA but will wait until July before cancelling (if necessary)

NTL is down to QLK only and I think it’s just a matter of time for them as well. Can't go anywhere anyway (now QLD has closed its border to us).

Next there'll be road blocks on the F3.

I traveled SYD-OOL as a last minute dash to bunker down by the beach with family than in my Sydney apartment. We are just over the NSW border so will be interesting to see what the finer details are with the QLD border closure as BNK seems to be reducing departures.

Flight was around 50-60% full with 3 in J. The airport was not as empty as I would have thought for an 11am departure but all lounges are closed so everyone becomes visible in the terminal.

First time I've bought a coffee in an airport for years. Wasn't as bad as I thought 😆

NSW should be closing our borders to those dirty Queenslanders.

(I say that as a Queensland born & bred guy who can no longer go "home" so I'm pledging my alligience to my adopted state of 15 years - up to but not including state of Origin)

If it’s anything like the SA border restrictions the police are recording your details and you must go into 14 day self isolation. Your details are then used by the Police who will do regular checks to ensure you are conforming.
I was also under the impression that all non essential air travel has been banned for some time so might have to seek alternate travel arrangements to get back to SYD

Hahaha I agree as a QLD'er as well!

For my situation it just seems weird that I would go 400m across the border to the airport to then go back to the same state that I was in...As you said, it all seems a moot point as I think I'll be up here for a few weeks. All I need is my laptop to work from home.

Well VA have canned 90% of their flights until June and I’d expect QF will do likewise so you might have a nice month or two break up there

Health professionals travelling for work purposes are still able to travel interstate without restrictions.

Looks to be the case. I did just book a one-way ticket so very flexible on the return date.

Just spent the last 20 minutes cancelling 5 work trips through to end of April...
