There are probably plenty of domestic road warriors here still battling on.

What's it looking like? Are people still flying or are planes literally empty?

Not all of my sites have restricted on-site visits so I am still doing a weekly SYD-PER run until end of April or I get forced to cancel... whichever comes first...

We flew back from Launceston to Melbourne Friday afternoon (4pm flight) with Jetstar.
About 40% full.
Interestingly, they asked the first people lined up whether they'd volunteer to be in the extended leg room/ emergency exit seats - and they happily accepted.

I enjoyed the Dad's Pie and Sausage Roll meal.
Regards,
Renato

The government is worried about Easter travel. If our current trend continues, we will have 70,000 cases by Good Friday (roughly 25% increase daily). It may slow down a little but it’s going to be very high.

I have flights booked NTL-BNE for Easter but I think I’ll have to drive.

At the very least I wonder if airlines will have to apply social distancing and block out the middle seat?

Flew domestic on Weds evening, Sydney to Moree. There were 8 people on the plane. Airport was dead quiet.

No, and I'm enjoying the break. Domestic travel even for holidays is a drag.

I cancelled my SC run for today but otherwise had no domestic travel booked. Not intending on booking anything in the current environment.

We have flights from Brisbane for Easter in Cairns and Perth in May. At this time we intend to do both.

I was grounded as of last week :(. Cancelling each trip on a rolling weekly basis for now. I can't imagine any corporate, from an insurance and risk perspective, will be permitting any travel from now. Even FIFO routes have been shut down in WA and to PNG.

As a weekly traveller it's quite difficult to stay grounded but I feel it's best to be socially reponsible and mitigate my own risk. I only have a SYD-OOL for Easter to go back to family but may book something post Easter.

I have a trip up to the Fraser coast in 2 weeks and am still going ahead with the flights. Was going to go to NZ directly after that but that is currently being cancelled for obvious reasons.

A friend who flew back to ARM yesterday evening said there were only a few people on the DH8-300 service.

One thing I have noticed in the past week is the OTP of the flights ARM to SYD are the best I've seen for quite a long time.

How long in PER, BpB? I was due to be out of here late April-late July, but 💥. Will you have any time for a meet-up?

Hi John. That would be great. May Day long weekend. If looks like we‘ll make it there I’ll message you before

I am flying this Sun and return either Wed or Thur. At the moment I am more interested in knowing which flights may be cancelled.

I have a few flights in this and the next month, where due to the nature of work with clients we do have to meet in person.

This week on Tuesday, I did the day run from Canberra to Melbourne at 6.20am, and there were only a dozen people on the way down, and maybe 20 on the way back at 7pm. It was the safest place to be in my mind. At Canberra there were more people at security than there were passengers. Getting back to Tullamarine at 5.30pm, the Qantas concourse was deserted, with no queues at sceurity at all. Talking to one of the staff in the QF Bus Lounge, she said they normally have 5000-7000 people a day, but the past week it has been 1000 a day if they're lucky. Really, it was less people than I would run into at the supermarket - given the current state of madness.

With the cuts to domestic flights, who knows what will come. I foresee a lot more Dash 8s plying the routes.

With Tasmania, and now the NT, going down the path of imposing 14-day isolation (for most arriving travellers), the realistic options for interstate travel are dwindling. Maybe watch this space.

From 4 pm on 24 Mar SA will be introducing 14 day isolation for travellers from interstate. My travel (post #34) is not going ahead.

I'd expect there will be a further significant drop in domestic schedules - I would say max single daily flights outside the golden triangle. Even SYD/MEL could be down to 3 a day, or even less.

In The VA SYD lounge now. Trying to get home to OOL and faced a couple of cancellations. No-one in terminal or lounge. Enjoyed my VA packed lunch. Even the chip bowls are pre-filled and glad-wrapped individually

It's effective immediately but with border control from 24 March 4pm (presumably meaning the major road borders?)
