Anyone else flying on Christmas Day?

We flew EY MLE-AUH-LHR on Christmas day last year arriving early boxing day morning in London.

We don't celebrate Christmas so not a really issue for us. In fact I was happier to be on the plane given we were in F and it was my first A380 flight.

I have no idea, but will let you know.

My main aim on the first flight (leave SCL on the 24th, fly through the night into SYD the 25th) is to stay awake looking out the window to see if I see Santa. Have spent many a long night on that route pondering the Antartic ice by night. If I can just get a smiling fat man and a dozen reindeer into that view, I will be happy forever.
 
Christmas day last two years, this year 23/12 and 24/12. Laughing!

See one flaw in your santa spotting plan. As I understand it, he hangs out at the other pole.

Given the fat lad flies but once a year, has a red beacon on the nose rather than port wing tip and probably has no instrument rating (due mostly to having no instruments), I'd be hoping he was actually many miles away! :)
 
Xmas Eve to JNB, Xmas Day chillaxing with coughtails by a pool, then Boxing Day to NBO.

We are flying on Christmas Day from Zurich to Florence. It’s just another day to us and not really bothered by it. As we did last a last minute redemption I’m glad that we have been able to find a cheapest way to get to a destination that’s been on my list for a while.
 
Flight to SIN on Xmas afternoon to make the connecting flight to LHR for a Boxing day arrival.
 
I haven't ever flown on Christmas day.

In 2018 I expect I will be one of the first AFFers to take off (time zones notwithstanding) as I have an SQ flight leaving MEL at 0105. It will give me a chance to drop into the QF dom lounge to wish the staff a happy new year.

I will be in the air during midnight probably just touching the Australian mainland by then or maybe passing indonesia on route to syd.
Wonder if they will give this lowly platinum champagne at midnight..or sparkling.. first time flying on christmas day and during new years eve.

I hired a chopper as soon as I landed in Queenstown on my first trip (during Winter). We landed in beautiful virgin snow on a mountain peak and the views were magnificent.

Thank you. Yes. I have concerns about NBO and I’m trying to arrange a private driver and car pickup from the airport through the Hilton. First they offered a shuttle bus. Um NO! and then a taxi.
