Re: Not very good earning rates ...
One has to wonder - is QF only begrudgingly part of OneWorld?

You're being too kind, this is not simply a win.
Its like running a 100m race against Usain Bolt and finishing 10 seconds behind.
It's more like getting destroyed by your competition, getting torn to shreds.
The earning is so incomparable it's actually beyond a joke.
What a fail by QF, what a fail.
At least I will now be able to access the QF first lounge in MEL when flying QR J
Sorry, no earn for 'deep discount' economy... (SNOQ...)It's already on the Qantas Website.
[all fare buckets]
....
I doubt the F Lounge will be staying open for an additional 6 hours just so that you can fly an airline they don't want you to.
I thought it remained open for the EK a380 flight that departs around an hour before the QR flight?

First 100% (AFP)
Business 75% (CDIJ)
Economy 25% (YBHKLMV)
No cabin bonus.

To me the whole QR sponsorship into OW by BA is more of a knee-jerk/retaliation to QF ditching them for EK, and less of a genuine strategic partnership. Just my opinion...
Similar thoughts could be expressed about QF and MH
Double points offer may help a little:

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?
Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.
Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
My understanding is that OW have been considering a "Big 3" Middle Eastern airline partner for some time, of which Qatar was the one which bore fruit (Etihad and particularly Emirates don't seem intent on joining an alliance).
Yes that is true but the alliance itself doesn't invite (that I am aware of) airlines to join, it is up to existing member airlines to sponsor a new airline into the alliance.
