Another Celeb denied access to Qantas Lounge [Dress code]

re pj's - QF or otherwise.. the dress code prohibits sleepwear so.... all of them would be considered unwelcome.

I like to feel comfy when I travel and in QC or the QFi Lounge most probably would not ever be wearing a suit unless I was on the way to a funeral.

Depending on the projected temperature it might on some days end up being a pair of shorts, casual shoes and a T-Shirt.

I personally would not travel on public transport in flip flops or sandals. I like to know that if I misstep my toes/feet are not going to be injured/cut on what are obviously non-sanitary surfaces and that if perchance I need to use stairs or walk on slippery surfaces I am less likely to come a cropper.

I consider myself pretty broad minded and accept & largely embrace the range of diversity in our society; however I do support some culling of what some passengers might consider being comfortable attire and some form of dress code outlined by establishments that is flexible enough for staff to be able to act to limit attires clearly not appropriate to the intended environment/image they are trying to create.

Edit: The photos below are NOT indicative of my or what I consider acceptable attire.

As long as short shorts and midriff tops are banned for both men and women.

The problem may be that you are not wearing enclosed footwear for the lounge. Maybe change those shoes. 😉

As I stated/implied I always wear shoes that protect my toes i.e. enclosed.

Here''s some news for the more cultured gentlemen like myself on this forum.

As of a few weeks ago I discovered that we are once again allowed to wear pluggers into the lounge, as long as they are leather/dressy.

I found this tidbit out because I left my dress shoes in a hire car and only realised when I landed in Perth. I went for a look in a clothing store in order to grab another pair of shoes, where the young girl working there informed me she was told Qantas were allowing leather pluggers back into the lounge.

I was skeptical but needed some new top shelf pluggers for an upcoming date night, so thought I'd invest the $50 and give it a crack.

Entered Perth Business lounge and asked if this life changing news I had recently came across was true, to which the front of house said yes, as long as they were leather.

Have since been travelling in style/comfort through Brisbane and Perth business lounges without issue.

Have not tested this out in Sydney and Melbourne because I have no interest in Sydney or Melbourne.

Your mileage may vary as I am also quite charming (despite what my wife says).

Last few times i have been in Perth lounges, I'm the only one not in Hi Viz - your pluggers should fit in fine.
I still have no idea why the controversy about the celeb?? is. Looking at post #16 (#88), I'd kick them both out

"We called them ghettas in the Navy... "

I haven't heard them called that since I paid off in 1974!
