Annual NZ Dinner: CHC 19 March 2022 [Cancelled]

Same here, EK is no more. I said up thread ‘I am more than likely to jinx the trip’ attempt number 4 seems to be doubtful.

With NZ pursuing an elimination strategy and Australia a "living with virus" strategy, hard to see the Trans Tasman bubble reopening at all...

March is the last month of my flying year so might see what's available. Providing NZ has reopened of course 🍷 ✈️
I still have a DSC voucher to use and abuse ;)

Unfortunately current plans have me (Covid, borders, lack of quarantine etc. allowing) in AKL about 4 weeks later (though no way will I book this without some certainty - too much disappointment already). That renders this dinner as unlikely but I won't rule it out. As with AKL, I'm not booking anything till there is reasonable certainty.

Four weeks should be enough time to get from CHC to AKL. Unless of course you are really hung over. :D ;)

A maybe for me considering now spend more time near CHC than MEL

Yep. NZ Govt is contining the isolationist hermit kingdom policy and pretending "elimination" can happen

Interested, as long as no travel restrictions & quarantine (Hotel or Home) needs on source (CBR) & destination (CHC) ports.

BOOM! EK 1K SYD-CHC gone again this morning :( March 2022 Annual NZ Dinner became my April 2022 Chasing the Easter Bunny around the South Island. Time to rebook for May 2022…and so on and so forth. Covid will not beat this little black duck.

I think the one with the most realistic expectations is penegal with his 'copper' status.

Having said that I/we are interested and with penegal's permission will join him on copper status.

I am putting together my journey to NZ. I have booked the Ghan (DRW-ADL). Next I have to book the Spirit of Tassie. I guess I will need to book a flight at some stage too.
