Angry about proposed travel ban exemption for footballers

when he is supposed to be in VIC iso.

Well that will depend were he was at. As of 11.59pm Tuesday that week people could host up to 5 visitors at their dwelling.

He may not have been doing that of course.

That person was also someone with known mental health issues, so I suspect that having had a lengthy stay at home period would be difficult on someone with mental health problems.

I am I no way justifying his actions, but these times can be especially tough on some.

Just now, our State Govt has caved in and is allowing the two AFL teams to resume full contact training with the entire squad, in Adelaide. An exemption. They screwed up their isolation just over a week ago and got off. Now, we still can't eat in a restaurant, we have to eat outside, (weather is appalling now because of a cold change); businesses can't resume, yet the bloody footballers, who are still being paid, get the exemption. Needless to say Steven Marshall's Facebook is exploding. Not with congratulations as he might have expected, but with fury.

ABC24 just said that the AFL isn't happy with Marshall's idea of the showdown being played first in Adelaide in June and they probably won't allow it. So the SA players may be off soon to Qld after all.

Playing the Showdown in QLD will only mean they go up a week earlier. The reason they were initially going up 4 weeks early was because contact training was banned in SA but not QLD so they needed to get up there early to train. Now that restriction has been lifted they can stay here much longer and train

That’s interesting. Given there won’t be a crowd I can’t see it will make much difference where it will be played.

AFL would prefer the showdown and Derby be played later on the year in the hope they may be able to have some form of crowd attend in their respective states.

Except for those playing in hubs, that will cut back significantly the number of games they can play as it takes out WA and SA teams playing each other. And Port have already played an extra game which will need them to have a bye.

The 6 teams in Qld will like play each other once except there cross town rival, saves travel costs. They may lose a home game playing one of the WA clubs in Qld.

I did read on ABC the SA government just eased dining restrictions from Friday 22may.

Must be tough for AFL to plan around different state governments requirements

Yes kind of. Still limited to 10 and wineries and hotels can't open until 5 May. Many won't even bother until it is raised to 50.

Is this thread still about being “angry” as per the title or a more general thread? 🤓

From Friday - 10 indoors and 10 outdoors, alcohol permitted!
It's a start. I did hear on the radio I think from AHA that if there was a restaurant attached to a winery then they had to wait until June 5.

So now that all the footy players, coaches and families have had their special treatment, what do we see:

But hey they all got fined or suspended, so that's OK.
