Angry about proposed travel ban exemption for footballers

Apparently some of them have said they can’t have a flu vac due to “religious reasons”. Hopefully the children are having vaccinations and then are able to go to school. But what sort of religious reasons could there be not to have vaccinations?
I was thinking they would be the same group who would not allow transfusions to save their children.

The Jehovah's Witnesses do that - no blood transfusions to anyone, maybe others too, and maybe some they made up recently. Where does it say 'thou shalt not have a vaccination' I wonder. It just encourages the anti vac idiots.

I might be wrong and I was going to post the same group but then I had second thoughts and I don't think that this is necessarily the case. The Jehovahs Witnesses I believe, forbid blood products as representations of the body of Christ. That's all.

Google suggests Church of Christ And Christian Scientists are anti vac because prayers to God will suffice. Umm.

I recall seeing an old movie (Life For Ruth, aka Walk In The Shadow) late one night on ABC.
Worth a watch and it's available on youtube.

"When John Harris's daughter is badly injured in an boating accident, the hospital tells him that she will need an urgent blood transfusion. Due to his religious beliefs Harris refuses permission, and the child dies. When the inquest clears Harris of all blame, the doctor in charge of the case tries to get the police to press manslaughter charges against Harris."

Some of you people are funny... you uphold the “rights” of some groups with the right hand, while throwing a punch at other groups with the left. Whatever aligns with your personal views and bents.

Meh, you don’t have to go far from AFF itself to read about some members galavanting around the country on a jolly all in the name of “work”... can’t see any of you cracking up about that now. Hypocrisy much...?

Im sorry, I'm not sure what you are referring to here? Can't happen in SA, we are pretty much locked in. Hence the issue with the footballers. WA, QLD and Tasmania are the same.

How is it that footy players with Instagram Influencer wives have full sleeve and body tattoos, repeated knee, hip etc reconstructions, use unregulated “performance enhancing” peptides but refuse a simple flu injection on not wanting to pollute their bodies with vaccines?

So this is truly weird. After not giving Christian Scientists any thought in my 60 plus years of life until yesterday, tonight we randomly flicked on to a Foxtel Comedy show featuring Ellen de Generis and low and behold, she was raised as a Christian Scientist and thus anti Doctor and Anti Vaxxer as a child. .

I see Cartwright has got around his ban with a Drs Certificate about past adverse reactions. Funny how this never came up in the WAG's feed along the way.

I can understand that some people have fears of adverse reactions, as an Aunt of Mrsoatek died from such a reaction, although that was many decades ago (not egg based I think, but from a mouse perhaps?)!

But egg allergies are a not considered a concern according to ASCIA, and from what I have read serious reactions are quite rare. Funny that there seem to be so many bad reactions amongst a relatively small group of footballers.

Affidavit

Thanks

Isn't it always the case the spell checker cuts in when you don't want it to, and then other times sits silently in the background and lets it embarrass yourself

In an attempt to be informative not embarrassing - affidavits are used in court proceedings. If there aren't court proceedings, it was much more likely a stat dec.

I signed (far too) many an Affadavit of Death as a JP, back in the day. Often the estate finished up not requiring probate, and the matter rested there.
