Hi everyone.
I recently flew J internationally to Japan for the first time namely JAL to Tokyo and QANTAS back to Melbourne.
Both services were very good. Qantas won out for me overall because of the free PJs and the pillows were more comfortable but both services were of a high standard and the Japanese staff exceptionally polite and willing to serve.

The Qantas flight by contrast was more relaxed but the staff made you feel comfortable. I would happily fly with either airline provided I was not in Y!

I did note however that people flying from Sydney have a third choice namely ANA. How does their business.class and service compare?

Finally a lesser known option is to fly with Aircalin via Noumea. Is the business class product worth the extra stop?

Cheers Peter

I wasn't a fan of ANA business on that route. It's fine, but nothing stands out. Lounges are average including being out of food and simple at dinner time (just had mini sandwiches left, plus a few extras), cabin is very warm so hard to sleep, meals weren't great - not even breakfast even though you arrive in the morning. (And no PJs either. :-) ) Only thing going is it's a nice hard product (cabin), but the rest of the package wasn't memorable in a positive way.

I prefer Qantas or JAL on that route.
