for points earning, hard to go past the explorer + platinum edge combo imo.
uncapped and 2ppd for everything, use the platE for supermarkets for 3ppd.

EDIT: excl govt charges, but that every amex

The insurance limits are a lot better. $2k for delayed luggage for example.

Seems like a lot of extra money for very little extra benefit though. How much could an annual insurance policy cost that gives the same level of cover?

It's just one benefit of Centurion, and indeed one benefit of their insurance versus the Platinum. Like anything, depending on how much you use something it will vary how much it is worth to you.

Insurance is a personal thing, and I'm sure you can evaluate the options online for how much various policies cost versus the benefit limits.

You will get your money's worth if you do enough travel and spend enough money. After several complaints, I have a RM who is also a travel agent, and certainly make my life a lot easier.

Yes this policy recently changed and I have found out now I am ineligible for this benefit. Why because now you need a minimum spend of 250 on your cc centurion. Even though work pays for travel i would need to additionally get work to spend 250 from my own private centurion CC a major hassle not worth it in my opinion so the objective was reached by Chubb. My RM explained to me they were having too many additional card holders ( which is a free benefit) claiming travel.

However as I was unaware of the change my RM was willing to pay for my expenses thank you AMEX Centurion and I cancelled my claim to Chubb.

The spend needs to be an individual AUD 250 dollars towards the trip. Then it becomes active. I did not need to do this before for work paid for trips.

I can purchase insurance from QBE for an additional amount ?

That's what I was informed by my relationship manager too. He said a letter was being posted out confirming all the changes on Monday.

no definitely not 5 million although sometimes you feel like you did. I did mean 5K annual fee. That used to cover my insurance as well, but know it does not. So I did some targeted complaining on how I lost value. ........... I was able to come up with an amicable solution. I cannot say more.

The RM rang me and discussed the issues of doubling AMEX points after recent devaluations coming up. The Government utilities are up to 1 dollar one point now. (soon) . Which keeps it basically the same for us Centurion holders. Is that what everybody thinks or Am I having a blonde moment.
