Is there only one lavatory for all of business class? That's what the QF seat map now shows.

28 passengers and 5 crew sharing one small lav for 10 hours. Geez that will be fun on a long haul like HNL = avoid like the plague!

Will the -200's do long haul international legs once refurbed? If the answer is no as the -300's have 2 lavatories, your answer is moot.

I don't know but they do currently. They only have ten 300's so they are going to be running tight.

Many thanks - most helpful.
The issue the for us now ( as our flight seat map is still on the old configuration) is whether we move our present seats, which are in letters which will not be dropped. That is move them from the centre together to ,say, 3K/4F (still letters that will not be dropped)which split us up in the old configuration seat map, in the hope that the flight IS reconfigured by late Feb 2016 and thus get us as close together as we can be when other seat letters are dropped upon reconfiguration? I hope that I am making sense?

A very GOOD question and I absolutely see the dilemma.

The obvious risk is that if you select seats that will not exist in the new config, then you're almost certainly going to be split if you DO get reconfigured. However if you select seats together (eg: 2A/C) you have no way to know that while 2A may hold, that the person in 2C won't wind up in 7K).

You also have no guarantee that if you selected, for example, 3K/4F,that once the a/c is subbed (IF) that those assignments wouldn't be wiped anyway as everyone in the cabin is rejigged by the system and you still end up split. You would hope those on a single PNR would retain assignments close by but who knows.

I think if it were ME, I'd select 2 in the middle like 2D/F or something, and leave it. Keep a regular eye on the a/c seat map, or set up an EF seat alert (if you subscribe to EF) and if/when the config changes, hopefully have a chance to grab better seats before others wise up.

good luck!

VH-QPD back in service operating QF51 this afternoon
Next obvious candidate is VH-QPE, but it is currently in PVG operating back to SYD.

I was supposed to be on a refurbished in J this Sunday from melb to perth but now it's an ex jetstar bird :(

I was supposed to be in a non refurb plane tomorrow SYD-SIN but now it's a fresh bird. And the upgrade fairy has smiled on me. 6f or 3f? Have 3f at the moment but 6f and 7k are available (QF81)

The new A330 configuration has made its first appearance on todays CGK runs (QF41/QF42) with VH-QPA operating these sectors and funnily enough is operating out of Terminal 2E (Garuda's own terminal for international flights) instead of Terminal 2D for some reason.

The only Asian destination which hasn't seen a refurbished bird is BKK (QF23/QF24).

I know I am coming in late here. But firstly 2D and 2E are not different terminals they are just different piers of the same terminal even though the airport does use the terminology terminal (the Qantas check in is in the 2E section!)

Secondly 2E is not Garudas other airlines use it.

Thirdly whilst yes QF41/42 do generally use the 2D pier it is not uncommon for it to arrive/use 2E. I've done this trip 6 times return in last year and am sitting at about 8 times in 2D and 4 at 2E.

Next trip scheduled for 1st July. Hope it is new config and the upgrade gods smile. Wednesday is normally the best day for upgrades so here's hoping.

You just have my refurbished bird then :((

Oh well! Was wondering what route it got swapped to!!!

Qantas Source also reports VH-QPG into BNE maintenance on 24/6.
Given this aircraft has yet to be repainted and is seemingly out of order, assuming for the moment that this is likely to be more minor maintenance, and the QPE will replace it in the coming days.

Correct on the first part.

According to another forum, QPI will replace QPG on Friday in the hangar and will be next to be refurbed.

It appears that one way to guarantee getting an upgraded bird is to get a red eye out of PER
Refurbished A330 aircraft continue to be progressively introduced on network, with four refurbished domestic aircraft now in our fleet. All of our east-west overnight flights from Perth are now operated by refurbished A330 aircraft.
