ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

I assume if you’ve used a stay plus for a future booking you can’t then check if there’s a better deal elsewhere or at the same place?
That's correct currently if you have booked using the stay plus (even for a booking months in the future) you are not currently able to search any other stay plus dates across any properties.

As of the 1st of October when we change to the new system this is no longer an issue as you can use it across pretty much any non blackout night.

Will the new Stay Plus FREE Night be subject to allocation and availability?

"With the upgraded ALL Accor+ Explorer programme, the Stay Plus FREE Night benefit has seen some improvements, so it's no longer subject to or limited by allocation. This means you can enjoy this benefit more freely, whenever and wherever you like."

Unless you're dying to stay at an Accor property, I see it as a net loss. You're effectively paying $350 for access to a 50% discount for 2 nights a year.

It would actually be a 50% discount on the cost of 4 nights per year as opposed to 100% off 1 night per year.

I see talk about not stacking Accor Plus And Accor China to get Platinum, but it sounds like you can still get the Signature subscription from Brazil to reach Platinum right? Unless i'm missing something

Yep agreed. I liked using the Stay Plus for single night stays during periods I needed to travel but due to events or what not the cost was high. For example my hotel across from the MCG wanted $800 for a night during the Wallabies v Lions but I got it for $0. Booking 2 nights at that rate wouldn’t happen.

Accor Signature gives you Status Points rather then Status Nights, so they should stack as per now (although it is not helpful, as they are two separate counts)

There's apparently a question mark over whether the Accor Plus China restriction will actually be implemented by 1 October.

You cannot stack status points and status nights - they are essentially different status paths.

You can attain platinum with 14000 status points or 60 nights. You cannot gain platinum by combining 7000 status points and 30 nights. With the latter you would be gold.

I guess if Accor Plus China stops working after October 1st, many will switch to the Brazil option since the reward points offer good credit for stays.

Yes, that hasn’t been enhanced for now.
If you took up the top package you get 12,000 SC’s per year so only need 4000 SC’s more through spend to reach Platinum.
I’d imagine that will be the next enhancement

Only 2,000 more SC's needed for Platinum

Yep sorry, didn't mean to imply you could mix status nights and status points but I didn't see it mentioned much, so I just wanted to clarify. I'd probably get pretty close to Platinum based on nights but Signature definitely gets me across the line so i'm happy with that at least.
