ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

I assume if you’ve used a stay plus for a future booking you can’t then check if there’s a better deal elsewhere or at the same place?
That's correct currently if you have booked using the stay plus (even for a booking months in the future) you are not currently able to search any other stay plus dates across any properties.

As of the 1st of October when we change to the new system this is no longer an issue as you can use it across pretty much any non blackout night.

Will the new Stay Plus FREE Night be subject to allocation and availability?

"With the upgraded ALL Accor+ Explorer programme, the Stay Plus FREE Night benefit has seen some improvements, so it's no longer subject to or limited by allocation. This means you can enjoy this benefit more freely, whenever and wherever you like."

Unless you're dying to stay at an Accor property, I see it as a net loss. You're effectively paying $350 for access to a 50% discount for 2 nights a year.

I see talk about not stacking Accor Plus And Accor China to get Platinum, but it sounds like you can still get the Signature subscription from Brazil to reach Platinum right? Unless i'm missing something

Yep agreed. I liked using the Stay Plus for single night stays during periods I needed to travel but due to events or what not the cost was high. For example my hotel across from the MCG wanted $800 for a night during the Wallabies v Lions but I got it for $0. Booking 2 nights at that rate wouldn’t happen.

Accor Signature gives you Status Points rather then Status Nights, so they should stack as per now (although it is not helpful, as they are two separate counts)

There's apparently a question mark over whether the Accor Plus China restriction will actually be implemented by 1 October.

You cannot stack status points and status nights - they are essentially different status paths.

You can attain platinum with 14000 status points or 60 nights. You cannot gain platinum by combining 7000 status points and 30 nights. With the latter you would be gold.

I guess if Accor Plus China stops working after October 1st, many will switch to the Brazil option since the reward points offer good credit for stays.

Yes, that hasn’t been enhanced for now.
If you took up the top package you get 12,000 SC’s per year so only need 4000 SC’s more through spend to reach Platinum.
I’d imagine that will be the next enhancement

Only 2,000 more SC's needed for Platinum

Yep sorry, didn't mean to imply you could mix status nights and status points but I didn't see it mentioned much, so I just wanted to clarify. I'd probably get pretty close to Platinum based on nights but Signature definitely gets me across the line so i'm happy with that at least.

Still a little confused based on the comments and T&Cs so far. So is it confirmed or to be confirmed that those who've renewed before September and have received their 20 night bonus would get an additional 30 nights based from October 1?

I'm currently Gold and I renewed in June and received 20 Status Nights + 10 Additional Nights. I've also stayed 10 Nights so far, bringing me up to 40 nights in total. Is that to say i'd reach Platinum by October 1, or is that to be seen?

No, it won't help you reach Platinum. Whilst you will receive 30 additional nights upon renewal only 30 total nights for the year are counted towards the 60 required for Platinum. So if you have 10 paid nights (during 2025 calendar year not membership year) you would need to stay an additional 20 nights before 30th December to hold Platinum during 2026.

As far as I have been able to make out, you will only get 30 nights when you renew, their won't be an additional 30 nights come October.- you've already got them. If anything, the change explains why they were giving that extra 10 nights....

I think many will be in for a rude shock dropping down from Plat after 31 Jan 2026. It used to be Plat would be extended to end 2026 if you met the previous qual nights by buying nights. Not anymore.

In this regard the "enhanced" Accor+ program is better. The limited allocation of Stay+ rooms per property made it much harder to use if you were staying at anything more than an ibis. I suppose the question becomes would the clientele who would want to burn a Stay+ at a Sofitel be the same type that would be willing to stay multiple nights at a Sofitel using the Stay+ to offset one of the nights? As someone who prides myself at staying at 50 Euro ibis or Mercure hotels in European city centres, I actually will from time to time spend a bit more to stay at a nicer hotel and have paid cash to stay at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth in the past.

I think the key thing with the new program is actually finding a time where you can get a red hot rate on one night that is cheap and pay for the other night with the Stay+. For instance, I have seen the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour price for as little as $300/night on some Fridays. So there is certainly nothing stopping you under the new program from booking a 2 night stay there checking in on Friday and checking out on Sunday. For me paying $150/night to stay at a Sofitel as a Platinum is a bargain.

Another consideration, and I don't know the answer for this. Will the Stay+ night count under the new program? After all you are paying for the hotel in part with cash? That could be attractive to those looking to rack up the nights for status, particularly if they aren't interested in dining at the hotel restaurant to trigger the night stay credit.
