I was matched from QF Platinum to Freccia Alata Plus, expiry 31/3/17. It took two or three emails to them to get it.

Has anyone who got the top tier activated the Freccia Alata forYOU card? I'm curious as to the expiry. If I hold off until the new year to give this to my Mother, presumably it will be valued until 31/3/17.

Successful Status Match from VA Gold to Freccia Alata through to 31 March 2017. Took a few weeks as my original email didn't include my MilleMiglia number.

Next step - how can I status match the Freccia Alata to OneWorld?

Just logged in my Alitalia account and I've been matched to Freccia Alata Plus from QF WP. Alitalia status valid until end of March 2017. This might convince me to try Korean Air and Delta...

Has anyone who got matched to the top tier have any success in gifting status to another? As I understand it you have to wait to receive your welcome pack which contains a code that you enter on the Alitalia website but I haven't received the pack yet (and who knows whether I will). I also thought I read on a blog that the gifting could only be done up until 31 December 2015.

It's in the fine print:

• The new, recognized status will be valid until March 31, 2016. If the status in the existing Frequent Flyer Program expires after March 31, 2016, the equivalent status recognized within the MilleMiglia Program will be valid until March 31, 2017. So on the website (http://www.alitalia.com/it_it/Forms/carta-freccia-alata-per-te.html) it says that (Google translation):
"Members Card 'Freccia Alata Plus' valid up to 03.31.2016 can request activation of 'Freccia Alata forYOU' within the 31/12/2015, through the form below."
So I can only assume that cards expiring March 2017 can give status to someone until end of 2016. I haven't receive my activation code yet, but the email says that I should get my card by mail in the coming weeks.

Wonder if Alitalia status can be matched to another program.

Stupid me applied with my expiring Aegean card (Jan 2016) so only status matched until 31st Mach 2016. I should have used my Turkish that expires in 2017 :evil:

A bit usless really.

Maybe a email when I get my new QF platinum card or a screen shot of the requalify might get them to extend to 31/3/17?

I had the same issue... I probably did the sneaky run around and just opened a new Alitalia account and applied for another match with my updated card.. Was approved quickly, waiting on the next Alitalia pack now.

I initially sent an email with a copy of my Asiana Club digital card (as I was told they no longer provide plastic cards) and was rejected. In the mean time I received a plastic card (much to my surprise) and applied again. Got the rejection email today and I realised I forgot to attach the photo of the real card like an idiot. So now I'm trying again a third time and remembered to actually attach the real card photo this time. Fingers crossed I get a reply before the promotion ends otherwise I might not be able to apply again if I missed some details again this time.

Around a week for me, and the card arrived today after around 4 weeks.

I applied on the 10th of Jan - matched today. Used the Etihad gold (image of card) and the required details. I didn't receive an email, but checked online and status was updated.
