The fact no one has replied may be related to the fact you've gone in ruling out options. Air Asia X the only airline I know with really cheap airfares, though I did manage to fly my family to London from Hong Kong for quite a lot less that $1000 per head last year on Air NZ which I though was pretty good though not up to the $254 one way advertised by Air Asia.

Well, I think my point has been well proved (but I'm still open to be convinced otherwise).

Trust me, there are no "bargain" fares from anywhere in South East asia to Europe right now (well at least that's what my research tells me).

I won't ever book Air Asia X again, so with that in mind, the best fares KUL-LON I have found (and booked) have been via India. For example, MAA-LGW-MAA on EK was approx AUD 630 all-in in April, and I have also booked CCU-LHR-CCU on AI for approx AUD 700 in June.

And I also found (and used) a nice little fare on Kingfisher, MAA-DXB-MAA for approx AUD 290. Ties in with a *A C-class reward I have DXB-LHR-DXB on LH.

How to get to India? Well on TR, AK or 9W, of course (and don't forget the visa at AUD 93 for 6 months).

Isn't travelling wonderful?

Please be more specific.

I have been looking for super cheap (or even cheap) fares ex KUL to LON.

And please don't mention Air Asia X, as they have just screwed me up royally by withdrawing from AUH.

But this is an Air Asia X post...don't tell us not to mention Air Asia X!

I found some MEL-KUL-STN airfares for AU$640 return all in...pretty awesome pricing if you can handle the average seats.

to Clifford - try Qatar airways.

Seeing availability for around $800 all-in return, depending on dates etc.

Thanks for that.

Didn't see them myself (March and May). Everything I saw was AUD 1,000 plus. Also checked ex SIN, BKK and HKG.

So where did you find these fares?

Anyhow, I'm not unhappy with the flights I booked...

wasn't sure of the dates so i just put in some random ones, i think in august maybe.

I certainly hope that flights will commence in July going to k.l from Sydney..I have a sister who lives near Coolangatta so it is handy but the 10 hour train trip is a bit hard to handle..(I travel on my free pension voucher)..so you can understand why I am looking forward to July..and spending my annual 3 months stay with my friends and adopted families...p.s. airasiax is "tops!!! shirleyp.
