Happy Flying!

Air Asia Mega Sale

Hope it includes the premium seats - I've noticed that they are charging up to $AUD1900 o/w SYD-KUL for next year, which is bollocks. My average this year (x 4) has been < $650 for a premium seat but it probably explains part of the $27M loss on the Australian routes this year.

EDIT

Just noticed that they're quoting $939 for SYD-KUL in a premium seat. I think I'll pay the extra $100 and fly Malaysian J ($1040 + 1000pts)...

A little late in the day but a heads up from OzBargain re: DRW, PER and ADL Big Shot members getting a head start on the sale..https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/158156

I can't find flights for the dates I need..others might have better luck..

Seems like seats are going fairly fast.. Don't know if the actual sale from 2am AEST is any better..

how do you get Malaysian J for $1040?

Points plus Pay. 1000 Enrich points + $1040.92 = SYD-KUL in J.

Note that ou get 1000 Enrich points as a signup bonus when you join Enrich which helps if you don't have a credit card that can transfer to Enrich.

The sweet spot is SYD-LHR which is about $1700 from memory.

A VERY non-FF friend of mine worked out a very smart way to take advantage of this sale yesterday. He realised expedia had not reflected the sale prices on their system and that they offer a price match guarantee (PMG) where every price match results in a $50 voucher to spend on accommodation and/or tours. I *think* you can do the PMG over the phone with instant confirmation.

He then realised that he could book each person and each leg separately and PMG each leg.

I think he ended up booking:

ADL-KUL
KUL-DMK
DMK-CNX
CNX-DMK-SGN
SGN-KUL-ADL

So stops in KUL, DMK, CNX and SGN for only $420 pp incl 20kgs luggage on all legs and I think collected up to 10 $50 gift vouchers for accommodation (meaning most of the accom would be free).

Very smart!

Hmmm, i imagine they would have changed it by now, but might be a good trick for next time...
