I heard that this thread received 12 votes and everyone of them 5 stars. Can you believe that?

Actually, I believe it's only a 12

thread.

(4 votes, average of 3

each )

It did have 5 stars at one point, must have been marked down since then

Continuing on its downhill spiral.
So if I gave it 5 stars then 4 other people combined gave it the remaining 8 stars. At least one person has given it a 1 star vote.

Without even blinking an eyelid I know the person that went out of their way to vote negatively for this thread.

Various combinations are possible. I haven't voted and I don't really see the point of it. Everyone will have their own ideas on the usefulness or otherwise of a thread.

I voted just for the sake of voting when I didn't really feel like voting but thought what the hell and just went ahead and voted anyway.

Mal, reported earlier that it had 4 votes at average of 3 stars, which meant that last person to vote gave it 1 star. Wasn't this the reason we scrapped the user ranking system?

User ratings tend to be a little more personal in nature. From my own POV, I make my own assessments as to whether a thread is useful to me or not.

Agree. But there are people on this board who out of spite would go out of their way to report a thread as not being useful. You know who you are, no need for me to point you out. In the last day or so we have given this thread a little more exposure than it deserves.

And you are just replying to my posts to increase the posting rate so we can reach 35,000 posts within your predicted timeframe. :p

Would I do that? :) I think it is a bit late to try and make such a run. I would need to rely on you guys to have a frantic friday tomorrow or something to actually have any hope.

With 202 posts to go the result looks to be a formality unless there is a late flurry of posting activity by 4:23pm Sunday.

Oz_mark, don't you have some trip reports that you can post? With one post per flight and one post per day of trip you could get close to the 202 posts required. And then all the "great report" posts will follow.

I can also post my trip report for the Finnair Misadventure in April and posting business class menus as well I could easlily get the thread to 50 posts.

It would take quite a lot of trip reports to succeed here. Beside, given my lack of craftsmanship with the written word, you shouldn't expect them to be much more than "Got on a plane, flew a bit, Got off the plane".

My writing skills are poor at the best of times but I wanted to have a go at a trip report. I still have the notes from last trip, I may type them up and post them one day. "My Finnair misadventure"!

I will prbably do one at some point, but given the vast bulk of my travel is just on domestic flights, I am not sure that my reports would add that much value. Probably when I do some overseas travel I will have a crack at one.

Re: Gentlemen, no more bets please! Good luck to all!

Very close to a result now, only 50 posts to reach target, and the winner has almost certainly been decided.

Are you sure? :p

This is the 35,000th post!

And the winner is serfty. :)

Congratulations serfty on your very accurate prediction using the scientific methods you developed. Your prediction was only 81 minutes short of the actual 35,000th post. Sadly no prize was offered with this thread. :(
