I so wanted to go to this event but I was in SYD and Armidale over the weekend and tomorrow have some very minor surgery scheduled. Nothing serious, just another BCC. So as you can see I just can't get away again.
Look forward to your reports WITH pictures.

Such a shame, Buzzard. There will be plenty more of these SYD events, God willing. I hope the little Op goes well tomorrow. Looking forward to when we do get to meet. Warm regards, Wozza.

Have a corker of a day tomorrow! I do hope you enjoy all of the Cabernet's on offer, not just those of the Coonawarra persuasion - I'm biased, but I think it's an utterly terrific variety!

For a bit of fun I'll let you guess what the blending is on The Trip. We've got a team of Sommeliers in Coonawarra at the moment as part of a Wine Australia program. They had dinner last night at the Coonawarra Hall, and I think our table and your table tomorrow will have some similar quality.

I have had to change my travel plans due to a work emergency.

I am now arriving in SYD at 18-30, so I will be approx 1 hour late to the restaurant.

Apologies. I will try to send my wine with Steady, but not sure if we can connect before his flight.

No dramas, Penegal. Don't bust a gut with the wine. Or the commute into town. We'll see you when we see you.

Wozza

The preparations continue ...

And the secret weapons to be deployed this afternoon for the morning after the night before (as two excited little boys will come bounding in from 6 am) ... !!

I'm on my aircraft. Pushed back 2 mins early, so hopefully we can get in on time.

I forgot to book a driver in Sydney, and don't know if the PA did it, so may be arriving via a yellow taxi.

Ha. There is more than a bottle per person. And something tells me the night doesn't stop there...

Usually it's the person who says 'not that type of event' that ends up taking the crown!

Ha. There is more than a bottle per person.

Drunk over the course of an evening - with plenty of food and conversation - by a group of people with reasonable wine-drinking stamina.

It's really not that type of event.

I'm excited to see half the wines in the golden oldies category (2000-2006). Should be fun to see the age contrast with the newer vintages.
