FOMO pumped it up, really.

A2M showed poor in results. Anything heavily reliant on substitutable exports to China is a risk at the moment.

Taking a punt on ATS which is Australis Oil at 5 cents in a placement. The directors are taking some so we decided to participate. We have a checkered career with oil.....
Had a group call with Resimac RMC and Veem VEE call is soon.
Resimac have expensed their digital system improvement and their processing costs are dropping nicely. Forecasting 100 to 105 million after tax for this year after expensing 5 million of digital optimisation that will help them operate sweetly for the next decade.

The Veem conference call was really interesting. Hoping to get a ride on their boat to Rottnest as it can get there in 13 minutes. We can talk fast if the ride is so quick. It has a gyroscope so the ride is fast and smooth.
Cash Converters are paying a dividend and they made a profit. They are CCV.
Aspen Property is APZ and they did purchase a line of homes from a distressed vendor in Perth and right now they could re-sell them for a big win. Their Karratha accommodation is valued using a 17% cap rate. With the boom up there a 12% cap rate would produce a big win. We can see Aspen share price move higher under the current management.

Have been thinking casually about selling and rebuying my CBA shares to create a CGT event.

'You're mad' I can hear you saying.

However there are reasons to do this:
- to be able to leave the shares to my beneficiaries without an attached CGT debt when the beneficiaries surely sell them.
- is to use my accumulated losses to offset the gains, as losses are extinguished for an individual, upon their death.

AS the shares were left to me CGT will have accumulated from the initial share offering price of $5.60 (IIRC).

Unfortunately the CGT payable will push my income into a higher tax bracket for this year.

Any thoughts?

@Mr_Orange we do have quite a few shares and bonds. We have always invested our spare funds into shares and real estate. Will be meeting with CEO of Acumentis the property valuation company because he is in Perth. We use ACU when we are dealing in property in other States and they help with rental evaluations.
@rogerkambah we always spread the CGT over a wide number of years if that is possible. It is easier to do that with shares than property. Do remember that the Government will be chasing taxpayers to get the deficit down if they can. CGT is a bit of a bargain but most taxpayers don’t see it that way.
Yes the CBA float price was a bit over $5 so many years ago.We think it was $5.60.

Our futures market is down a lot this morning so don’t panic when the market opens.
We noticed Cromwell CMW is reducing its quarterly distribution from 1.875 to a proposed 1.75 cents. Still with Cromwell trading just above 80 that is a pretty good return when bank deposits are nearer to zero.

Decent falls in the US overnight. Yesterday may not have been the best day to buy in to tech (oops) - all comes back eventually.

With no news EXR which is Elixir has moved up to 25 today. They are drilling for coal seam gas in Mongolia.

Yesterday we sold some of our E25 manganese shares. At 1.80 we sold just enough to get all of our purchase cost back so we can consider the rest are running for no cost rather than the 40 cent placement price.
Time to filter out the businesses that are running poorly or don’t know the word profit....
We did get some Cromwell CMW at 79 as the market closed. They had a weak half year result.
Having about 150 stocks takes quite a bit of time and effort so don’t copy us.....
I liked what the CEO of Acumentis ACU had to say. Their professional insurance in valuation work runs at about 5% of turnover so apparently it is the same issue for lawyers and accountants in 2021.
Next virtual meeting is on Tuesday with Energy Action who do work for us on our electricity costs at our warehouses.
We did get most of those 5 cent Australis ATS shares. The directors got some too.

Sell enough so as to not push yourself into the higher tax bracket or at least enough to offset your accumulated losses. You don’t have to sell all of them!
