AFF Member Stock Discussion

I've been loading up on WAM as its price is around a one year low. I've owned this stock for sometime now. Reliably paying 6 to 8% fully franked dividend.

The rate rise has been priced in already a few days ago, question is how aggressive the rate tightening turns out to be and whether it triggers a recession in the next year or two.

There won't be one. Quite the opposite over the next 3-4 years, in fact.
I hope you are right. I am not quite as optimistic with all the black swans currently in play - Ukraine conflict, China Covid response, etc.

One thing I have observed is the usual rules re: black swan events have not always turned out as predicted.
… who would have predicted the boom (houses/ecomony) when the market early 2020 was in the gutter and Covid took hold?

My personal rules are no debt/buy lots of shares when market down but invest regularly no matter what and spread the risk.

Will see how it plays out

For a birthday present I opened a Commsec account for my niece.
To get that lower brokerage she has complied with the rules to get $10 trades.
When I did this for SIL she had Calidus drop in price but now she has shares in a gold producer with lithium exposure and her shares are up a chunk.
