Guys and Gals.

NOT HAPPY JAN!!! - A business crisis cropped up and kept me from dinner.

Apologies for the no show, did not have anyones contact numbers so could not ring or text and explain.

Hope you all had an awesome weekend, and I will plan better for the next gathering.

Adam

Just another note too, there appears to have been a 'picnic on the bridge' today and they astro turfed the harbour bridge for people to 'enjoy a picnic'. Only in NSW ;). Bridge re-opens to traffic at 1pm.

Also, the airport was delayed today due to lightning alerts. Ground staff were indoors for around 20 minutes. It's also bucketing down out here. Nice view of it from the DOM J lounge (if anyone gets here yell as it's kinda quiet :))

*edit courtesy of QP announcement*
Ground staff are off again as of 11:59 from lightning alert. Things could get messy this afternoon!

lightning alerts?

sitting here in Wagga waiting to get for a late lunch to the lazy lobster and the plane has
a/ arrived on time
b/looks like departing on time!

hmm and the question is
should i get a beer while i'm waiting?

No answer but one to that really!

Yup. Airport has now been closed over an hour (well ground staff not working). Nothing coming or going. Things will be messy later on today at SYD.

Just in case anyone is relying on Airport Link today, trackwork is taking place and trains are replaced by buses from Central (Eddy Ave). Allow extra time, but it's cheap - I paid $3.20 from Circular Quay.

I didn't know it was that cheap

I couldn't make it to the train station before it started bucketing down anyway, so caught an airport shuttle for $12.

Currently sat in the QP (around the side, near the TV and bar). Very busy, but the airport HAS reopened. Flights are slowly being called and cleared.

Come find me when you arrive... or call me and invite me into the J lounge. :)

Down Town Petaling Jaya :(

Oh, well I've just finished my third slice of cake and am feeling rather fat! I better hurry up on the third glass of beer.

Not long ago, directly in front of the seats:

Usually $15. I was surprised when the ticket machine only asked for $3.20 but I assume it was cheaper because of the buses. They weren't checking tickets on the bus, so probably the cost was just the train to Central, then free beyond.

I had a great weekend. My parents were very happy to see that I didn't get kidnapped by an axe murderer.

Glad they're happy and great to see everyone. Had a magnificent time and have eaten enough fine food to see me through to Xmas.

Was wonderful to see so many different people who I previously only knew by their handle.

The flight back was ok but we did sit on the tarmac for about 20 minutes before leaving. Still with some people being delayed for longer it wasn't too bad.

As promised I shall post food photos later but no faces unless the people concerned give consent. If I met you and you want your photo send me a pm with your email and I will get to it sometime this week.

To the organisers; thank you. Your work, especially that behind the scenes paid off. I had a wonderful time meeting lots people, great food and conversation and lots of fun. To the other attendees, I had a ball and hope you did as well. To those who were wondering if they should attend, well I hope you consider next year. I am sure other attendees will provide some great thoughts and comments on the weekend as well. I was made very welcome as a first timer.

I couldn't quite keep up with some of the younger members and their partying but it did bring back fond memories. QF009, I'm thinking of you when I write this. :D

The final meal at Brighton le Sands was great to see planes take off, especially the massive 388. Am so looking forward to my trip on it next year.

The J clubbing was nice, haven't been there for 12 months so was good to be reminded of why I should if possible.

Look forward to the rest of the reports as people start to get home.

It was good meeting some of you in the SYD business lounge earlier this evening and I wish I was able to attend drinks last night but I was not feeling well.

Very nice surprise to get op-up to business class on my SYD-BNE flight at the gate....

Now at home in MEL after a terriffic weekend.

Great catching up with old faces and meeting new ones.

Many thanks to the organisers of the various events (and the weekend as a whole), and to the attendees for great company.

Look forward to the next one!

Just thought I would add a few words;

Thanks to the organizers Munitalp and Oz Mark.

It was good to see some old friends but it was good to see some new faces.

Karens can tell her family that we aren't ax murders.

Nice to see Jswong who joined us on his way to Brazil from New Zealand via Australia and the US.

AFF 4, next year Brisbane. :D
