I voted SYD cause I've got other friends over there I can catch up with, but BNE would be interesting, haven't been there in quite a few years, would be good to check it out again.

I will be off re-qualifying ( I hope) so have a nice party....

Anyone for HKG?

Fred

Cheap flight to LHR from HKG ;)

Why not... but i am a bit closer to HKG than most i think.

I think we can agree on the pattern that people are selecting their non-home location.

Given that, I would hope that those voting are giving a reasonable committment to the event. For example, as Sydney has 18 votes at this time, that those 18 are in for Sydney.

+1 for Sydney. Would prefer the 25th as I'll be in HNL the weekend before.

That's a sudden surge of support for SYD. :) One week to go though, and the results could well and truly be on knife edge and right down to the wire ...

As both dates are after my thesis submission, I can safely say that I'm committed either way. Would prefer the 25th though.

A HKG thingy sounds fun, maybe in the future. Lots to do in HKG. AFF Gathers International edition! :D As we speak the BA Board is having a DO in HKG next weekend (Inaugural White Stag piss up -- White Stag is a British pub in Wan Chai, located very near BA crew accomodation ;)) and the itinerary looks fab though I can't attend due to uni cough.

This is an open poll. How easy is it to only count votes of the people that have a serious intention of attending.

If I remember correctly the same voting process was followed in selecting Adelaide and then only a handful turned up to the gathering....

I would hope so too.

Not my fault - I was fine with ADL but the date chosen sucked for me ...

Voted for Brisbane, as it's a chance to fly somewhere and I want to check out Cloudland. :)

Prefer 25th Oct.

Cheers,
- Febs.

The 25th of October sounds good for me. I'll vote for SYD on the basis that I fly to BNE enough as it stands.. :p

Looks like SYD is a clear winner with a slight leaning towards 25 October 2009. :-|

If this is the final choice of venue and date, I'll say now that I'm over a 90% chance of attending:)

Is there chance of making it the first weekend in November :( That last weekend of october ill be trekking back from HNL.

Would be great to tack some more onto the end of my trip.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'll start organising a trip to SYD for Oct 23-25 then. Whilst the QF sale is on. :D

Conveniently, there's JQ30 MELSYD on Oct 23.

Have also booked the Four Points on a flexible rate, but hoping to use an SPG free weekend night + AMEX free night at the Westin or Sheraton. :)

October 23-25 is actually not a bad choice, seeing as the prior weekend has the F1 on and I would hate to miss one of the last races of the season.

And I see the current Qantas sale just encompasses that weekend too. Very nice.

Is the date confirmed for the weekend of the 24th-25th October 2009?

Yes, QF009 and I have discussed behind the scenes have agreed to run with it in Sydney.

It's in the calendar, and a thread is coming very shortly
