We’ve now checked into the Marriott. Had to wait 2 hours for our room - as Bonvoy Gold upgraded to an Opera House view room on the 29th floor.

That's a yes from me, and it looks like I will be getting to drinks tonight after all. Which is a good thing, considering I have the name-tags and no-one would know their name if I wasn't there.

The hole-in-the-ground where Gold Fields house used to be raised a bit of nostalgia. It was the location of my first office when I worked in Sydney. Very much the junior in a private M&A house and I got an office of my own with a bang-on 23rd floor harbour view! (It was down-hill, office-view-wise from there )

Have a fantastic weekend everyone. I’m sorry we couldn’t make this one but as expected we are into the house sale process with a pre settlement inspection today and settlement Monday which makes our weekend full of last minute stuff cleaning.
