I voted for the end of the month because preceding the AFL grand final or that other one, idiots like myself will be spending a fortune watching their teams live in finals football - very little chance of prying me from Melbourne over that time - I do believe there are a couple of other AFL supporters in this forum who would be in the same boat - I think the other game also has members who watch live games but Im not sure... Oh thats right, Melbourne Storm, of course!

A little early to call but looks like Oct 23-24 could be a popular choice....
 
For completeness in helping people plan their schedule, there are various public holidays:
- ACT NSW SA - Mon 4-Oct. Labour Day.
- VIC - Tues 2-Nov. Melbourne Cup Day.
- WA - Mon 27-Sep. Queen's Birthday.
- TAS - Thur 21-Oct. Show Day. Different days depending on where you live. freaky.
 
I'd be out for the first weekend (mothers birthday), the AFL Grand Final weekend (not because I'm going, but I like to watch it) and the 30/31 October (son's birthday party).
 
I hadnt bothered to look at these threads as the title of the other thread was suggesting Sept/early october and I will be away.23/24 october though is one of the few weekends I know I will be home.So a pretty definite starter.
 
Late october is out for me unfortunately, so if it's then i'll have to give it a miss (voted for earlier in September as October is just a bad month for me usually).

There might be a good chance that it will, but the organisers of SMD II haven't set down a date yet (they only mentioned "end of October"; at this far out not only does that mean many things, but also subject to change!).

Yes; :( decisions; decisions.

I made my choice; but looks like if every ones preferred date wins then I have a hard choice to make. Yes I really want to attend Star Mega Do 2, which at the moment is scheduled to start 25 October.

I really wouldn't even have worried about Star Mega Do 2; but I got a call from someone who said how good Star Mega Do 1 was going; ;) and then I took more interest in the thread and then spoke to a few others who attended who said how good it was and now I am considering signing up for Star Mega Do 2; :p credit card debt depending. :(

No but I could of think of 2 AFF'ers affected possibly 3. Not a huge dent in the grand scheme of things but they will still be sadly missed if they decide to go to the Star Mega Do instead. But these things cannot be avoided....
