Suits me :D - I need to catch up with existing clients and some potential ones, so they will still be there in March ;)

Hmmmm, this sounds like it could be a fun night. Count me in.

It's been a long, long time since I've played poker. I might need to practice!

Count me in too, as long as we don't see someone "flop top pair!" :)

That's what she said? :p

Seriously, do we have a date firming up on this? If it's in March, I'm probably going to struggle to get down (though Velocity points might pull me through, along with PC points); if it's in April I will really struggle due to an international trip I have planned.

drewbles is away at the moment, so I don't think it will happen before March.

What he said :)

I've not been in the country most of this year. I also had an amazing response to the EOI I put out last year, so if this event is to go ahead, i'm going to have to find somewhere to host it (we had almost 30 people at last count).

I'm not back in Melbourne until March so nothing will be happening until I get back. I'm currently sneaking in a few minutes of internet here in DFW before I jump back on a plane. It's possible I could arrange it for end of March, but not sure if that'll conflict with munitalP's hijacking of my idea ;) I'm away for most of April so unless people want to wait until May...?

I was also hoping to have it as a dealt evening rather than self dealt as it means everyone can just sit back and enjoy some cards rather than needing to worry about dealing, spilt pots, side pots and the like.

Will see what I can arrange when I get back home. I have sourced a poker table to purchase (one of my employers one that's been re-furbed with a brand new layout; looks great) so if i can lock in a date and get some firm numbers, i'll firm up plans.

This is a very good idea given the large amount of interest.

That was my line of thinking too. And as a professional dealer, I'm happy to deal one table. Alas dealers don't come cheap, so that was the other thing to factor in. We may make it a fixed buy in where a certain amount funds the other dealers (not me) who will not play and will only deal, and i'll play as well (and also pay). Then, the rest of the money would be put into a prize pool to be distributed depending on the number of players.

I'm no stranger to tournaments, but trying to organise them when i'm away from home is a little difficult :)

I copied your idea because it was such a great idea!

Anyway, a NSW vs VIC torney would be great - I wonder if we could organise it in the F lounge on a JQ35 flight :p

Cue James Bond theme music ;) :D

This is poker, my friend, not baccarat. :)

Plus, we'd need to be a bit more definitive on the dress code. Doubt many will be willing to comply. :D

EDIT: Actually, strike that. Casino Royale had Bond playing Texas Hold-'Em Poker. But still..... it used to be baccarat...

Gambling in the F lounge....I like to see that:)

Fold-up table? or would QF provide one?

Just wait a few years and there will be casinos in every airport... Qantas Casino Lounge.

Well LAS has slots in the terminal, so no reason not too :)

We so need that AFF private island, where we make the rules :)

FRA has a casino as well!

Speaking of which, the old Best Western at SJU would have been perfect, a SC run and a casino!
We could hear Serfty; "I've got a monster pot and WP status!"
