When I look up our booking for our US trip next month I get the nag reminder "As your trip involves a flight to the USA you need to provide advance passenger information." I finally booked our first place to stay in SEA before we head to Canada (so we could fill out the address line) and the passports are all finally in order so I went in to enter this information tonight. I did it fairly painstakingly so as not to get a detail wrong but didn't take a really long time to do it. However when I hit submit I got a "session timed out" message and a "start over" button.

After throwing a pen at the screen I tried to go back in but every time I clickded "advance passenger information" I got the "start over" button. I even cleared the cache and then got "Your confirmation request could not be processed because the system is already processing a request from you. If you were trying to confirm a booking, please review your trip list to check whether your trip has been confirmed. (3002)":evil::evil:

What now? Forget it and just do the ESTA stuff for the visa waiver? I haven't looked at that yet but will do it tomorrow.

Maybe the website will have the sh** off its liver tomorrow. Very, very frustrating.

I don't believe it is compulsory for you to enter the information on the Qantas site before you go - it just makes it easier for Qantas check-in staff.

It is however required (I believe) to get your Esta sorted out. (Can't remember when it was compulsory from, but think that is now).

I know which one I'd do... and which one I'd leave for the airport. Having your American address written on a piece of paper does help the check-in person.

.
Yes..go direct.

It is simple to do.

Note that if you do not have accommodation already (as I do not) that you can complete anyway.

You can update at anytime via the reference Code you get and should when you ain accommodation enter in the address prior to flying.

Note that on filling in the ESTA form online it concluded by granting permission for me to vist the USA.

Thanks folks, I just went online with ESTA (after a nasty little deviation via a semi-scam website which tries to get you to pay about $US50 for a 'guide' to get your application through in 5 minutes!! - the ad was on AFF!) and did all our applications simply and easily with about 5 minutes on each. I had the hotel address so used that. Kept all the authorisation numbers as well just in case - they couldn't make them much longer if they tried! All approved.:)

Will look at QF tomorrow if I feel so inclined. Need to get the old departure (Aus) forms at some stage too although it's easy enough to get them at the airport.

you dont need to submit your stay information on the Q website, you can do it when you check in at the airport. They will ask you as they check you in, if you have not done so online

I still can't enter the information through Qantas - still get the "start over" screen as soon as I click on "advance passenger information" so it's a call to Qantas it seems.

I find the expression "start over" annoying too - that's such an Americanism - we say "start again" around here mate!:p

Next they'll be asked if we're 'done' rather than 'finished'.:p

Had the same problem with the QF link.

Did the ESTA (easy). My Travel agent called about a week later and did it again for Qantas.

In the past i've used their online form to report stuff like this but just get stupid generic responses (eg. flight times BNE-MEL were wrong due to daylight savings 3h one way, 1h the other so i just emailed to tell them and got a "we are fully aware of daylight savings" in repsonse :evil:) so I dont bother telling them any more.

Just have the info if the checkin agent asks for it.
