Just booked for the missus to go see her old mum in the UK.

ADL-SIN in Y - 22500 Lifemiles

SIN-ZUR-LHR in J - 77500 Lifemiles.

Is this a good deal? I didn't have any flexibility on the dates, so I just went with it.

Wondered what others thought about the redemption cost.

cheers

Australia to Europe business class the whole way is 85,000 miles. You've paid 100,000 for mixed class. I'm wondering if a cheapie paid ticket ADL-MEL may have solved the issue? (generally pretty good availability on Thai out of MEL)

yeah probably would have.

Depends how far away the flight is... if you have time, and availability, you could cancel the current tickets and book exMEL, although I suspect that's going to set you back 2 x USD50 cancellation fees.

That being said, 6 hours on SQ in economy class is not the end of the world. Everything bar the seat is equal to Thai business class.
