Really disappointed to arrive at the Qantas Club in Adelaide about half past 3 on a Sat to find it shut down (despite a sign outside saying “Open from 7am”). No notice on their website about them being closed despite scheduled flights still happening. Bit of a scam having a Qantas Club membership if they don't have it open so you can use it! Poor effort, Qantas!

Well according to ADL airport website there isn't any QF flight after 1530.

Since it is the Qantas Club, it's open for Qantas flights.

According to the AAL (Adelaide Airport website), the last actual QF flight from ADL departed at 3.30pm, guess OP was on JQ.
Maybe to save money, QF have decided that "ahem" JQ pax are not "worthy" to have lounge access.
QF and VA have got much much much less flights over the weekend than pre pandemic.

Qantas have done this at all their domestic lounges for quite some time. It's probably more to do with the fact that Jetstar does not operate a business cabin on domestic routes so there is no CoS access.

I was in the ADL QP last year on the day before the federal budget, Simon Birmingham and a couple of other federal MPs were in the QP.

At this time SA was closed to NSW (I'd conntected from DRW) and JQ was the only airline flying ADL-SYD.

They had no trouble turfing the lot of us out, including the ministers, as soon as the last QF departure occurred.

I think it's wrong when they force you on the JQ and then cut away the services. It's different if you elect to fly JQ. Hopefully these days are behind us now.

Count your blessings, in the early years of Jetstar, Qantas Club members and SG had no access before a Jetstar flight even if the QP was open. (WP could use the now defunct "anytime" access.)

It’s a bug bear of mine that JQ passengers have any lounge access but when QF are running limited services and basically forcing their members to fly with JQ it’s pretty poor. It has been happening for ages though. At Easter time when we flew out of HBA there was a P1 going off his tree at the lounge dragon as he was on one of the last 2 JQ flights that were due to depart after the last QF flight
